DS3 bathed and no nits, long may it stay that way. Just sorted out some clothes from the loft for him so he has new PJs (£1 M&S reduction 2 years ago) on.

Boys now playing very noisely in the living room so need to calm things down as youngest should be in bed.

I know! Its so sad isn't it? I was telling dad that we have people on evacuation alert in some areas-DF's grandad is in Barnsley and the last time they flooded he was put on alert. Its times like this that Im quite glad I live where I do.

Dad was saying they learn to cope even though the waters off at night (municipality obviously not wanting to get into hot water with the local businesses iyswim) but the tourists are not coping well with it and business is taking a knock too.

And in the meantime,at our house in Johannesburg my stepbrother has managed to overfill the swimming pool and burst the pump:mad: so someone is going round there to fix it tommorow and my dad has asked them to empty it and they can go without it:j

    Just a quick rant

I have just watched an advert on TV for some Pedigree mixer thingy for dogs. They were proud to announce that it included flax seeds. FLAX SEEDS? EXCUSE ME? What dog (or wolf!) in the wild would go 'Oh look, yum, flax seed! I must have some of that!"

They would ignore it totally and just go kill a rabbit or something.

Fu-crying out loud! Do the advertisement men think we're really THAT gullible?

Hello SSL! Hope the move went well and I can sympathise with the lack of broadband; only just got mine on a couple of days ago and it was such a relief :D

Good luck with the uni; what are you studying?

  • Wilf55 ,Amethyst, Tarotangel, SummerMoon - :hello:

Since this has turned into a confessional, dare I say that, although my house is often tip-like, my mugs have to be hung under the cupboard in a specific order and my cutlery always has to face the sane way on its hanging rack. :o

Well, just when I thought things were getting better - today happened. If I could do piccies I'd show you. We're decorating, so I've been painting the soon-to-be study, but it has to be done in two halves because of shunting furniture round. Still got to put top coat on first half, then do rest by next weekend so DH can lay laminate flooring. Meanwhile DH has been stripping some of the wallpaper in the bathroom, including what was on the ceiling, but has found that we may need to replaced the ceiling boards as everything has been very amateurly done. Then I can do the tiling and we can get a new shower fitted.

The good news is that so far the study has only cost one tub of paint and some dpm. The paint I used for the undercoating was Freecycled from my brother (he phoned me when I advertised and asked why I hadn't asked). A friend gave us some unused laminate, and a Freecycler and my brother gave us some underlay. We will need to buy new skirting board but will just pull furniture out from the walls a bit to do that.

Would I be wimping out if I don't post a list for next week, but just try to do all my dailies and at least Level one while trying to carry on painting? Oh, I forgot, I also have to go to work.

BTW - if anyone has not added me on Facebook, please pm me and I'll give you details.

And I forgot - all my washing and ironing is up to date!

    Evening everyone.

Not long been in from work. Plenty of flying done and lots of ironing.

My friend who was evacuated last night is ok. She was saying they had to get her out in a boat. We have been watching it on the news at work. The river that flooded there is the same one I cross to go to work. But in my town its not up to the road but it is over the footpath alongside. It was starting to rain again tonight when I came home.

Serena big hugs for you and your dad.

Wilf55, Amethystcash, tarotangel and Summermoon Welcome!

rach Well done on the walking. I really enjoy walking but cant do anything too strenous now since breaking my ankle.
