hi, my Dad was wondering through Tesco's today at closing time and managed to buy loads of reduced fruit and veg, trouble is he took a fancy to the avocados and bought loads. The only thing I know to make with avocados is guacamole, can you freeze this? any other ideas please.
Thanks loads

I'd be interested to know the same. We love guacamole, and avos are often reduced but I've never had the nerve to try freezing.Softstuff- Officially better than 0070

Hiya. Just had a quick shufty on the net. Apparently avocados don't freeze well as is, but you can freeze pureed ripe avocado flesh, which has been mixed with half a tablespoonful of lemon juice per fruit, for up to two months.

Avocado Ice Cream Recipe
Editted by Gingham Ribbon to give link to the site this recipe is on. Here it is. Well worth a look."A banker is a fellow who lends you his umbrella when the sun is shining, but wants it back the minute it begins to rain." Mark Twain0 -

I had avocado, crispy duck, spring onion, lettuce and ranch dressing in tortilla wraps for my dinner today. Avocado is nice is salads with prawns or smoked salmon, lettuce and spring onions. My mum does a salad with oranges, sliced onion, black olives and avocado.0

Just to confirm that I've frozen home made guacamole successfully. I had a load of overripe avos given to me and it seemed the only way to deal with them at the time. I thought the worst that could happen would be I'd have to eat some rather brownish guacamole but in fact they were no different when they defrosted than before they were frozen. My weight loss following Doktor Dahlqvist' Dietary Program

I love avocadoes in salad and sandwiches; they go really well with bacon - the creamyness balances the smoky saltiness of the bacon. Why not try a bacon or chicken club sandwich with avocado, or in a tortilla wrap with salad, tomato and basil?2015 comp wins - £370.25
