Chin up KP, it is so tough at times this debtbusting isn't it. We too have realised that we haven't paid off as much as we thought we had this month, not helped by the fact that work got my wages wrong last week so wasn't paid around 80 quids worth of overtime:mad: . That said we shouldn't hopefully add to debts before the end of month, which was our aim to be honest this month, with Xmas & everything. As others have said, do go on holiday, you are sensible enough not to go spend crazy whilst on holiday & you sound likeyou all deserve a break. All the best!

    Xmas Saver!
Just a thought re new SOA, are there any of the incomings that are weekly, or 4 weekly, just that may add a bit more into the pot without actually realiseing it. May be 1p or £1.00 but anything all helps x
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx
  • Good spot Mum2one yes other than my salary the rest are four weekly so I should get 13 rather than 12 of these. Easier to work of 12 though and use the extra as a bit of a bonus.

Signed the three kids up to Youngpool last night so hopefuly by summer they will have £30 each and Ill have £40 for holiday spending money.

    Hi KP

Just echoing what others have said, really - you're on the ball, you've already spotted the problem - its amazing, really, even being on the ball there's going to be a deficit. I love the way that with the very next post, you identify ways that you've got of closing the gap. Good for you! That 13th payment is a big one tho, surely that will close the gap a lot?

Good luck! Not that you'll need it, but every little helps ....

  • Thank you for all your good luck messages it really does help.

Budget still needs tweaking because I always forget something. How about not adding up 160+175 correctly!! At least its an extra £100 every four weeks so really I should be ok this year if I can stick to the various budgets.

Hoping that £2k cc transfer will get excepted because I really dont want to rely on the cc each month even by paying all off it isnt working.

    Plan today is too:

Shop using list and not get extras
    Wash up
    Bake something
    Tidy and declutter bedroom

  • Thanks Beanielou :A

Well thi sblomming cold/flu or whatever has had me knocked out today  so I have done the shop sticking to the list and only buying three extras - cough medicine which is horrible, half price pringles the kids have already devoured and cheap icecream to go with my baking (planning on lava cakes now I have remembered the cornflour) and for kids puddings. Well impressed when it all came in at £35.90 :j .

Bribed OH to do washing up :D so need to do a bit of baking now. No hope of the room today so back on the list for tomorrow.

  • Quiet day today only spends so far are for kids medicine and tesco strepsils because the two DDs are showing signs of sore throats and mine still quite sore :(.

Not much done just washed up, major argument with DD1 over putting clothes away. surfing on here and baking. Was planning on doing one thing each with the kids.

Lava cakes started just in the fridge before cooking
Banana muffins part 1 c/o DS in the oven with a second batch to follow.
Lemon cake c/o DD2 due next followed by some fairy cakes with DD1.

This is to cut down on the cost of treats and spend some quality time with kids - although not sure if DD1 will be talking to me!

Need to rmember to get some lollypop sticks if I can and smarties. I have the millies cookie recipe that I want to surprise the kids with. They are £1.30 each in town at the moment  Also need to get New Year Planner.

Got the letter comfirming the cb increase so can amend my SOA to add the extra tenner, it all helps.
