  • Hi Wendy, hope your week has started off good and your feeling less stressed with OH and the housework.

I always hate Mondays, don't know if your the same. Have been really good today and packed up all my e-bay parcels from my sales over the weekend and then didnt feel like popping out to post them. As a result my spends today have amounted to £2. £1 each for the kids to go to school!

Have listed DS's futon bed on e-bay as he's grown out of it already. He's had it less than a year and I've had to go out and buy him a new bed. AM already up to £50, have got 4 days to go and 3 watchers. I'm hoping to get a nice little sum for it and I can put it towards the holiday fund. Everything else I'm selling on e-bay is only worth a few pounds :(

I can't remember the programme your on about but I'm the type of person that has a throw away session too often. My mum reckons I live a disposable lifestyle because I throw out and buy new more regularly than 'normal' human beings.

I've already started to think about Christmas (does that make me a saddo?) Have been taking some pictures and going to have some 209 calendars made up with photobox. I though personalised calendars would be nice little gifts for some of the family! Have also bought a few odds and ends and made a list with some ideas for presents. I can't believe we're getting to that time of year again. Where has the last year gone?

Have been taking some pictures and going to have some 209 calendars nearly had a heart attack, thought you were having 209 calenders made, not 2009! was dreading the bill, made up with photobox. I dont know what Photobox are like, but I have just had 3 x desktop calenders and 2 x wall calenders from VistaPrint, its the 2nd yr I have used them.
Basically the calender is free, then you pay £2.00 upload and p+p, may be cheaper than photobox.

  • Just watched an hour of very depressing tv. 8-8.30 was the ITV version on how the credit crunch will affect us followed by 8.30-9 Panoramas view.

I work with one of the two banks that are "merging" so there is a possibility that with the takeover that jobs may be lost in our area as well. Think it wont be as bad as at branch level but always a worry.

I really want to build up a nest egg now. The loan is at a low rate and currently manageable when I dont go silly on holidays and dentists :(. I might build up a cash isa rather than make overpayments. After clearing the new cc balance of course. At least I can pay the loan off in a lump sum early if things go well.

  • Hope you'll be OK on the job front Wendy, it's certainly a worry. I'm in the NHS and it's becoming just as competitive as the banks. Patient care is second to financial outlay these days, a lot different to when I started when patients came before budgets.

I really feel like a change in career but don't know what I want to do. Hopefully over the next few months my job will become busier as I'll be working for 2 bosses instead of one. I'm hoping I'll be able to push for a payrise for it. That's if I ever go back there!!!!!

Have just persuaded DD that she 'needs' to sell her Bratz dolls, she has about 60 of them and she hasn't played with them for ages. SHe's happily given in to me and I've just listed 10 of them for £15 on e-bay. Really hope they are going to sell. Just sold a lamp for £3 and a pair of Levi 501's for £5 so the holiday fund is growing :)
  • go gr...pace yourselves girls...wendy why be embarassed at doing nowt? With all you do sometimes you need to or you'd go dolally!! Trying to think more on why I spend as know its self destructive and while may make me feel better doesent really so its a large viscious circle. As for decluttering I promise you it makes you feel better as long as you dont reclutter. I did the kitchen in the last few weeks and it feels soooo much better...liberating and would def recc it!!

  • I am glad I cleared the bathroom. Not much to chuck but put things back in the drawers rather than all over the side. Next task is still the desk/dressing table. OH cleared the floor earlier to hoover and spray took one look at the deak and left well alone!

Really should target a room at a time it will make a big difference and hopefully find some bits to ebay or put away for next years car booting.

As to why we overspend?? So many reasons I guess. Its not like we are stupid is it? I need to wean myself off buying from ebay. A few too many cheap bodyshop bits heading my way and I havent checked the cc balance

  • Hello

Been to doctors and although I think I have had a few more good days than bad recently he agreed I should up the meds a bit. To be honest my memory is soo bad I cant remember how I feel one day from the next sometimes. I do know I get quite down and vent on here and you lot help so much. Then I get into gear and get on with things. Its just I need several jump starts to get the motor going it seems! Doc said it was nice to see me smile or something along those lines - see forgot already :o . Mentioned to him about OH and he wants to see him. Doubt he will go but Ill mention it.

Body shop going ok. Got two yes's, two I can do at work so just need to confirm two more fingers crossed.

Housework still on list to do :o but not quite so stressed about it. Kids appear clear for now, not so many bites so that should be under control soon. Caught and treated cat without blood being drawn :rotfl: . OH has mate around tomight so while watching tv upstairs I might tackle the deak/dressing table. I gotta sort out room for new stuff!!

Good to see you've been to the docs KP & hopefully you can persuade OH to go. I have fallen behind a little with housework whilst OH has been on nights but shouldn'ttake long to put right. Stopped doing overtime to help out more around the house but yesterday & today have had to pick Nephew up from his school as well as DD from hers. Don't mind picking Nephew up as a one off as his friend who's mum gives him a lift is off school, but couldn't do it regularly as it does mess our routine up quite a bit! OH fine about it & is off tomorrow & Friday so said she'll use all day Friday to get on top of things again!!

  • Hi everyone, glad you made it to the GP's Wendy and hope the tablets will kick in soon and you'll be feeling on top of the world. As ltm07 said, I hope OH will go to the GP's it could make all the difference if he visited and discussed his aches and pains. Well I've just poured myself a large port and lemonade, I shouldn't drink whilst on my tablets but I've been having a down day today so think I need it. I know it'll only enhance my mood but I'm still going to drink it.
