Got my order number for this system today. Due to arrive around the 22nd. How flexable are Dell with deliveries. Do they do evening deliveries? or only 9:00am to 5:00pm as both me and my wife work during the day. Means I would have to take a day off.
  • Great link..... I have ordered one for a friend

Yep,they will call you a day or two in advance and ask whether you want a 9am-5pm delivery OR a 5pm-9pm delivery. They're usually pretty efficient at delivering too :)

For further discount, go via https://www.quidco.co.uk for an extra 5% off!! Also, check whether MSE have an affiliate as they'll earn some deserved kickback as well.

Quidco is not listed as a cashback site on this page but it's your greatest saving on this bargain. You will save a further 30 quidish if you're already a member of quidco and buy the PC through it.

Nice deal btw, I'm quite tempted but will hold off for abit.
  • Ordered hubby this yesterday, but he has decided he wants the upgraded monitor. So i need to cancel and re-order.Obviously not got through on the phone today as they are closed, but have just received my order no etc and it says it was dispatched today(is that normal 1 day after ordering) and is with the courior for delivery on 22nd.
Where do i go from here?
Will i still be able to cancel even when it has been sent out?
    Any help would be great.

Could be normal......friend ordered one last Tuesday night and he got it on Friday. Stunning service. Mine took 2 bloomin weeks though, but i changed a few options from standard.

It goes to the port in Ireland, then waits in the queue to get put on the ferry to Holyhead. If it says "dispatched" then it's probably left the base and in transit. Not sure if you can cancel now because you've probably paid for it already.

If it says dispatched it means its gone, and that is perfectly normal. If they have machines made they will ship them as soon as they can.
you have the right to cancel your order up to 7 days after you receive it so I would ring them today and ask how to go about this - you could cancel the whole order and tell the courier you won't accept it!

Then they'll tell you the next available delivery day is five days later (because it takes a long time to drive from Coventry to Oxford).

just gone for it with the upgraded 19" tft...hope no better deals appear
I note a couple of people have opted for the UltraSharp upgrade for around £53 more. I'm considering this but what's the advantage? The US monitor has better resolution apparently and is height adjustable but its refresh rate is 20ms whereas the value monitor is 16ms. I thought lower was better?

The value monitor is analogue and the US is digital - what's the difference in reality? I understand the graphics card has both analogue and digital outputs so choosing the value monitor now will not prevent a digital monitor being connected in the future - is this right?

    Any techies comment?
  • you will be able to add a digital monitor at any time in the future. The video card has both outputs, weather you choose the value monitor or the dvi ( digital)

the digital one has a sharper picture, and once you have used one, the difference is quite significant

Has anyone else had any problems with their order? I have received an email saying that they have been unable to complete the orders because of internal reasons. They mention something about getting parts that may be incompatible etc. So I rang them up for some extra feedback only to be told that my order was cancelled. Dell, what the f are you playing at?

I tried to alter or at least replace my order, spent hours on the phone with Dell this morning, no result.
I had placed the order on Saturday about 9 pm, and this afternoon the courier company rung me, saying that the delivery will be on Wednesday. Oh what a speed !
