I asked them for a number to contact DHL myself, which they didn't give and kept repeating the same thing without offering any acknowledgement or even apology.

What do I expect them to do? Deliver next day when you pay for next day. It's now next day. And the box is still here. Use a courier that isn't so crap and has a phone number.

    What's your stake in this?
I know is pain in the back side I've been there. But believe me it's a lot better than it was. Certain booking agents from the past you could have failed collections 3 days in row on a regular occurrence (home-textiles payperdrop).

As for contact numbers there's a link in the first post of the thread that has a list of the DHL depot numbers.

Yevette. Mmmm....not fantastic. She seems to do everything by the book and doesn' acknowlege problems that may at least be partly repsonible so I can see your gripe there. Lsat weekend i booked 2 parcels for collection from customer, but I got the addresses the wrong way round. Sent Yevette 2 emails (high priority) straight away, didn't get sorted and the ensusing emails it was apparently 100% our fault and they never even received our emails, made us pay full price for them to be re-booked- wouldn't even do it at cost. Waffle wafle....anyway yes that did piddle me of a bit, but that's how thing go sometimes.

DHL are 'crap', saying that is simple daft as I don't know companies that are successful by default.

If you say it's not about cost, use Special Delivery.

Wotef you used a budget service, these things happen

If time was an issue but money wasn't, you could've sent it with the royal mail, then you can drop it off at a time to suit. Same for parcelforce. Or if you booked direct with DHL they could probably quarantee a collection day. Or a local courier who uses DHL etc for national deliveries would probably even be able to give you a time
  • FreightSearch.com NOW offer £5.99 for UK mainland to UK mainland services!! With fuel prices increasing, this is a great DEAL. Regular senders can achieve even better prices!
  • I also noticed that if you want to book with Parcel force on FreightSearch.com, you need to book the night before by midnight.
  • Yeah, well having slept on it and read the first disclaimers on the thread again, I think you are right, I should have just sucked it up and used Royal Mail.

Thing is, like I said, I'm about to leave the country, have been mad busy arranging lots of things, have got a bad back from lifting too much stuff, and this was one domino in a chain of things to do that's now put me out in terms of time, so indeed small volume user beware.

On the other hand, this was my personal experience using this courier service and so I'm posting my feedback in this thread so people are aware of it. If I'd had a better experience, I would have posted it also.

Would I use them again? No.
  • Hi Folks

We've had a spate of emails in reference to this threads from all sides claiming all other posters are promoting a company. Frankly, it's impossible for us to prove the difference between recommendation and promotion in this context and if we remove one side we will have to remove all.

We don't want to stop the feedback and ways to save money. However, if we see the same poster either recommending or replying to one company over and over again and it seems excessive we may choose to remove posts. I hope you can all appreciate how difficult this would be and post responsibly.

    Hi freightsearch.

Don't worry I have now amended the first page.
  • OK here's the update. I rebooked with PPW for re-collection today as I arranged to be in. Guess what?

    No collection from PPW's courier.

Phoned Yvette again at 4:55pm to explain. And only now does she say she will contact the courier. Like, why the hell couldn't she be bothered to do that yesterday when I called at noon and at 3:30pm saying there was nobody to call and no number to give. She basically didn't lift a finger.

Then she calls back - you guessed it - DHL attempted collection and nobody was in. At 2:05pm when me, my friend and my flatmate are all in.

Asks me what the colour of my door is (brown). Which is what their driver said. Yet we were all in and there was no knock on the door.

So what I figure is they went to my neighbour's house which also has a brown door. And nobody is in there.

I ask for a refund. She says I'm not eligible and doesn't take my word for it.

I say not even as a goodwill gesture? Asked why she didn't call these people yesterday if she could do it today. No answer.

Phone back at 17:05 after verifying I didn't even pop out the house until 2:41pm with my flatmate still in and...answerphone

TOTAL FARCE. Deal with PPW at your own risk. I'm opening a paypal dispute and going to the post office tomorrow.

And if anyone posting here is shilling their services, you abuse the trust of all the readers and you've had some part in me wasting my time and money.

    Cheers.
