I do exactly the same, great for getting bargains!
I know ppw have an option where you can select 9-5pm or 1pm-5pm collection, but even that is only a guide and obviously no use for you anyway.0 -
Hi - newbie needing advice.
Paid courier company wheelcourier.com for a pickup (wheels). They attended, wheels were at back of house, no more than 5mins turnaround, all packaged as per instructions. The courier flatly refused to wait, drove off leaving no instruction. Company are saying that implicit in terms and conditions that goods MUST be available immediately althought T&C's just say that pickup will be between 9 & 5.30pm, no mention of wait times at all although I accept that if i'd not had the items available and asked for say an hour then i'd expect him to refuse, but 5minutes, I askyou! Am i unreasonable thinking that i've broken terms and conditions or would a small claims court view the courier as unreasonable in driving off immediately I said i'd get goods for him, out the back. Given that they were wheels (x4) and booked as such is it so unreasonable to expect 5mins to heave them throught the house?? Question is should I push this one or not, they've taken £40 of my dosh and won't come back for a recollection until I pay a further £20 !! Any advice apprecaited0 -

Also bear in mind that such activities will casue a certain degree of disdain towards the company and as such can have very negative implications. For those who are tempted I would suggest consulting the previous thread and monitor the implactions it had for direct parcel delivery.
...on that matter claire12 could you give us the ppw booking number and the date you booked it? Just so we can be sure there is nothing untoward.
I agree Armitage, so easy to spot.
Claire12 has the same syntax (of which I'm an expert) as the last member who turned out to be someone from DPD.
The change of stance is laughable.
This time around, instead of blatantly plugging DPD, they are trying to discredit PPW:rotfl:
Regardless of the syntax, this member cannot spell, use capital letters or string a coherent sentence together.
Is it just pure co-incidence that the last DPD employee (that tried but failed) had these same traits? :rolleyes:I hope I never get so old I get religious...... Ingmar Bergman0 -
Thank you RED. I was thinking exactly the same thing. Had all the hall marks of DPD's attempt in the previous thread. I didn't bother mentioning it as it would no doubt prompted another 'see you obviously own ppw' or something silly. 'matchsticks-on-toast' is another I'm keeping a close eye as well.
Anyway how are you set at the moment? Any plans for next month when everything looks like changing with DHLs prices going up? I don't think we can stomach the increases so ppw will be out the window so I think it might be over to Express Packages Deliveries.0 -
Superloopy, IMO your best bet is just pay for recollection, or see if they'll let you drop off at a depot?0

matchsticks was another one that I clocked. So obvious to the trained eyeArmitageShanks wrote: »Anyway how are you set at the moment? How dare you promote Express Packages Deliveries when you own (or work for) PPW
Me, I've just purchased 150 prepaid parcels with my usual courier provider (as they are valid for 3 months from the date of purchase) and as I envisage the price hike being quite a big one, prepaying for parcels @ £7.50 each sounds good to me.
I emailed them and asked if the price was valid after the hike and was assured that it would be, so that's good enough for me as I have always had very good experiences with them. The rare glitch has always been dealt with efficiently and professionally. :cool:I hope I never get so old I get religious...... Ingmar Bergman0 -
I've forgotten who you use. If my memory serves me correct they are relatively new, blue'ish website?
As you're happy with them and despite obviously working for whoever they are , I'll add them to the list!0 -
Shucks forgot to say who they are.
It's UK COURIER EXPRESS and I have to say that their Northern Ireland, Scottish Highlands and Islands service is the cheapest I've found @ £9.99I hope I never get so old I get religious...... Ingmar Bergman0 -

LOL of course I work for them (not)
TBH, I have recently been using PPW for all my UK Mainland Parcels and UK Courier for all my NI, Scottish highland etc. parcels.
The prepaid option with Uk Courier seems too good to miss because I'm sure that all re-sellers will be charging £8.50 plus after the increase on Oct. 1stI hope I never get so old I get religious...... Ingmar Bergman0 -
