I think you will find plenty of discussion about this on the "It's gone but..." board.

Shouldn't really be posted here as it's not a 'grabbit' anymore.

This is the "It's gone, but..." board, innit?

    Result :money:

Just got a call from Dell (Ireland I think)

The guy was incredibly apologetic, he told me that it was an error by the marketing department to put up the E196 for sale - which they are not selling yet. He offered to send me the E193 instead, and he'll put the order through today.

He confirmed there will be no extra charge as it is Dell's error, and they'll call to arrange pick-up of the CRTs.

So those of you who've had the CRTs delivered have a good chance of getting it sorted.

    Well done charlie12! :D

I never got as far as receiving anything, so I'm not sure what the outcome of my order will be - I'm awaiting another reply from Dell.

Nice to know at least you'll be happy! :j

Hang in there - you never know :)

I guess they are going through orders in order, mine was one of the first, so expect some sort of response/outcome within the next couple of days.

I received this email on Monday morning from Dell
    Dear Customer

Thank you for placing an order with Dell. For internal reasons, we have not been able to complete the processing of your original order [********] to your requirements. This happens from time-to-time when parts or systems are discontinued or incompatible.

If we can build your order with an equivalent specification, a new order will be placed for you within the next business day. You will receive updated order reference numbers once this is complete.

Otherwise a Dell agent will be contacting you to discuss the details"

    Hadn't heard anything since so I decided to fire off an email this morning enquiring as to the current staus of order, this is the reply;

Thank you for contacting Dell Online Customer Care.

As per our records your order is in the process of review.

I have forwarded your mail to the concerned department. I will be contact you regarding the order as soon as possible.

Must be having some debate as to their next move.

I had this email last weekend, in answer to my email enquiring about the order.

I subsequently received the same email as jim1606 on Monday, saying they would contact me. This email was spontaneous, it wasn't an answer to any email I had sent them... Heard nothing since, so have sent another email today with no response as yet.
