Im training at the min and its going well. Finish training on 19th Sept (next week)! I have not been paid yet because you dont get paid for training, you pay for the training yourself. Remember you will register as self employed, VAT register (you have too even if you dont think you will earn over the 16k profits barrier) and you will need to set up a business bank account. Also take note that you can calim for the training off your tax bill at the end of this tax year. You are basically investing in yourself and your new business.

hi mate a couple of questions
do you have to buy a seperate pc/ phoneline, what have been your total costs inc training and everything?
do they gaurentee a certain number of hours? i wouldnt mind starting out as a part time thing 10-20 hours, then look at full time. can you pick and choose your hours?0 -
reading in to the site more, the fingerprint scanner isn't a definite pre-requisite. it just says you may be required to buy one.
and as far as the computer goes, it also doesn't say you have to buy another one - you just need a decent spec for your PC.
One of the minimum requirements is 1.5gb ram though, so i'd have to upgrade that straight away.0 -
leeroy17 could you please tell me a little about the telephone interview please, and how long the process is etc?
Many thanks0 -
I have just had a quick google of 'review contractxhange' and the reviews seem to be very good.
I shall be watching this thread with interest, please do let us know how you get on. xx0 -
Hi,
I dont always remember to look at this thread so if anyone has any direct questions for me please PM me. You need a PC that meets their spec, must be a minimum of 1.8GHz processor (single, mine was a 1.73GHz duel core so it has two processors both 1.73 but they wouldnt pass it). Trainings going well, and the phone interview only lasts 10/15 mins. They ask you about your customer service experiences (tel me an example of when you have received exceptional customer service etc). I definatley would recommend it. You do need to get a seperate phone line for business only. Any calls you make on that phone a company who deals with paying you will invoice british gas for. Think we just pay line rental. ( claim through business tax relif).0 -
Also, they dont guarantee a certain amount of calls, but trust me they get bombarded with calls. I worked at their call centre. Especially in the winter!!0

I was going to ask the same thing: the ContractXchange have advertised in one of our local free papers for a presentation evening this Monday coming in one of the local hotels...
It sounds like good enough money at 10-13 quid an hour for a "leading energy provider", but I'm not sure.0
