Part of the Furniture 10,000 Posts Name Dropper Combo Breaker
Don't call the Ryanair premium rate number: the cost of the call could easily be more than the amount you might have lost.

there is a part of the booking process right at the end where it tells you to wait partiently and not go back and press confirm again

possibly thats what you have done by mistake and hit the confirm button twice, i think the warning that you could be charged twice appears at the end

I understand why you had two windows open, but it doesn't work like that. The Ryanair website uses cookies. Once you transact in one of the windows (e.g., select a flight and click Next), that booking is replicated on any Ryanair windows you may have open on your PC.

:( I didn't know that. I thought the first time I had maybe just made a mistake.
Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.

No that's not what happened. I had two windows open, and pressed to pay on both of them. But it had changed to be the same flights.

  • Presumably your email confirmation tells you the flights you have paid for. Cheapest way to fix it is to book the return flights again but if you are going to phone them I suggest you do it now before the return flights are booked up.

yes i understand now, im sure one booking confirmation means one charge, you were quite brave in the first place trying to do 2 flights at the same time, painstakingly slow and double check everything is advised with ryanair

    good luck anyway.

That's the thing you see. Here's an example of having two Ryanair windows open:

Window 1 shows a one-way itinerary for Glasgow to Dublin.
Window 2 shows a one-way itinerary for Dublin to Glasgow.

You click "pay now" (or whatever it is) on window 1, which books your Glasgow to Dublin flight and charges your card. You then click "pay now" on window 2. However, the active Ryanair session on your PC (in any browser window), is the last one you just transacted on. Result is, clicking pay now on window 2 books Glasgow to Dublin again.

    Is that what happened?

Good luck anyway. To be honest, I'd be prepared for them to change the flight, subject to change fees.

Since there's two of you, change fee is £28 x 2 = £56 (if you change the flight online), or £44 x 2 = £88 (if you change the flight with Ryanair call centre).

Assuming you can't talk them in to waiving the change fee, it would be better for you to simply re-book. Would only cost you £12 then.
