Hi all
Updated sig and not feeling quite so miserable as last time as have done a lot more meal planning, which doesn't need too much shopping
Spent £16 on kids milk for term (has gone up but they are not big drinkers so like them to have it!)
Then ran out of milk today- sent DH to Netto rather Co-op (in the car- rain was sooooo bad) £1.70 for 6 pints :T
Off to research more cheap meals on MSE now

Sorry to hear your sad news Pat. My thoughts are with you and your family.
I do my shopping on a Wednesday. This week we went to Lidl £15.96 and Sainsbury's £24.40. That should be it for Lidl this month.
If we run out of anything from one Wednesday to the next then we do without it.
An extra this month will be having a rabbit neutered on Monday 8th September.

Hi,
I've made the icebun's today. But for some unknown reason, they haven't risen at all. I am not sure what I have done wrong.
I've still backed them, and they can be eaten... Just more like heavy sweet rolls. I am sure, the kids will like it.
I had a NSD today. I hopefully will only need some more milk over the weekend.
DH will be lighting the fire, we are trying out the heat logs. We don't have anywhere to store logs for the fireplace, so this is another way....I wish Germany had a website like moneysavingexpert!0 -
Seem to have spent a lot on food since the 25th August and I don't really know why
. Brought a few whoopies but not over the top.
I can't wait to go back to work on Monday then I won't be so tempted to shop or eatlike I have over the summer holidays.

Managing to stick to NSDs since major shop, but I don't really need anything. Had to look after dggs1 today and may be called on to do so anytime over the next few days as his mum, my dgd1 is likely to be producing baby No 2 within the next few hours. One way to keep in budget I suppose!
Picked some more toms and a courgette today but I don't think I'll get much more ripe produce from the garden with this awful weather. Some lovely chutney recipes posted today here.
I made a carrot and thyme risotto today using carrots from the garden, yummy. It's supposed to have parmesan cheese in it but I can't find a source of nice tasting veggie parmesan. Any vegetarians out there with any ideas please? I have looked on the 'net but without much luck.

aaargh - a day of ups and downs!!!!
I did really well and spent £48.95 at Mr T which is all the shopping until a week on Sunday. This included large bottle of gaviscon (£5 Tesco's own - indispensible!) and two additional lots of meat not currently on meal plan. We did have a £10 off voucher which did help.
Came home to bake rather nice pasta bake. I put the squash in the bottom oven and switched on the top oven. Guess what - it didn't cook! OH made a quick macaroni cheese so the kids could get to scouts on time and we can eat the bake tomorrow but I am now in the doghouse for getting it wrong again!!!!First Direct Loan @ 7.9% £13,076.03/£20,250
