where did you copy the recipe from? if its on the forum we can maybe get it corrected - I think you're right, there should be some sort of vinegar in it... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

Morning everyone
I have spent £51.85 this week on groceries so far but that has included the main shop (although i forgot to get any veg) and i am so excited as this morning my DH is going to pick up the half pig that I ordered last week!!!!!
I even defrosted my freezer specially as I don't want to wast any of it because I can't get it in.
DH thinks i'm nuts but he isn't complaining about the moneysaving as it meant i could buy him a motorbike. LOL
Hope everyone has a nice day

Good morning folks good day yesterday but at Tesco bought their big stockpot as it was reduced to £6.50 (already have one and its a great size) so for this week I have £14 left to do until Tuesday night, and still have butchers to go to. Should just about scrape by! Does anyone kno if you still get skirt Mum used to buy it when we were wee, and it was a lot cheaper than steak!Every days a School day!0

If it's for stewing/ braising, I use shin. Not sure if it's called shin everywhere? It needs l o n g cooking though but is so delicious.
Need to go out today for a few bits including a chicken for tomorrow which should also do sandwiches for work for a few days. Some more bananas and I'm going to buy nuts as well to keep at my desk for healthy nibbling. I hope to stay on target this month but have DD and her boyfriend coming to stay and |I know I'll want to cook some nice things. Will have a trawl through the recipes and see what I might do.

Hi all,
Haven't been on here for a few days so playing catchup at the mo. Still got 7 pages to read...
Just updating sig and my GC budget is already looking bad. Nearly half my budget spent already
Problem is, its DD1's 13th birthday party tomorrow (BBQ... in the rain probably) and I've spent quite a bit on that. I still need to go and get a few more items today so more sig-updating later
I need direction to perfection...0
