I'd like to join in please. I'm a complete newbie to this so don't really know what I do or should spend. I've decided to try a budget of £200 as this is quite a lot less than I think I normally spend. It will make very interesting tracking for me!
I've done a weeks meals plan and will try not to pop out for extras.

I spent £12.96 today in Mr Ts on veg and a few other bits and pieces. I don't expect to be buying much more this week as my freezers are both full to the top and I really need to start using some of the stuff in it.Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts - DFW Nerd 323

Evening all
well after a productive day..im pooped -so going to park n x stitch some more in a moment...
After having the roast chicken dinner at lunchtime, we have just masacred the new fresh made loaf and had marmite on toast for tea :j(hubby has cut the rest up to have with his 1 1/2pt of chicken n sweetcorn soup at work tomorrow tomorow) ..i also had it marmite for brekkie... I have become addicted to it
... still, as my bread is working out at about 12p a loaf at the moment -a meal doesn't get much cheaper than that does it :rotfl: ... although its going to be a b*gger when i have used up my stocks of flour as then we will only be able to get Hovis flour @ over €2 a bag  ..although I have had a mesage from someone on here who will be visiting back here near xmas and has asked if I want anything bringing over -you know who you are -you little diamond
...hmmmm me thinks LIDL bread flour might be called for
have tried to answer you PM but it keeps failing
will try again tomorrow ..thankyou by the way :T
I notice everyone keeps mentioning weevils.. now im either really lucky as I have never noticed any in my flour..OR hubby and I have been getting extra protein in our bread and i just haven't noticed  :rotfl:
As predicted, just because I have been feeling that its winter meal time with all the nasty weather.. it has been scorching today  :rotfl: although my veggies are gratefull ...
Have seen more courgettes appearing on plants i thought had given up..and my butternut squash that were like a pea last week are now about 3"s -so there is hope for them yet:j just have to wait and see if we have had enough warmth for my sweet potatoes to have been a success
I have made the filling for the savoury meat roll for tomorrows dinner -so if its hot we will be sat outside sweating to beejezzus eating it.....
On the subject of fridges full of lables.. my next door neighbour is like that.. can hardly get the door shut..but last time our bins went out she asked if she could put 3 carriers full of out of date or off stuff out of her fridge in our bin  .... her hubby buys lunch at work, the takeaway delivery guys are regular visitors and last week alone her little one had 3 mc donalds that I saw ..its crazy...
My fridge/cupboards/freezers are usually well stocked but with basics/staples, but i can knock up a meal in minutes and hubby always takes his lunch with him..usually salads, past salads, hm wraps, sandwiches on HM bread or flasks of soups/stews with HM bread... and to be honest Im sure it takes less organisation than next doorand best of all me n hubby are never heard having blazing rows about money
enough rambleoff to my sewing I go
have a great night all-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
Have had a lovely piece of pork in the freezer - whoopsied to £1 at MrA a few weeks ago - so thought we'd have Sunday Dinner for a change (yeh right!!)
Cooked it this afternoon but as usual things happened and we decided to have sarnies with HM bread rolls. Went to put the remains in the fridge for pack up tomorrow and there was an empty space on the plate:eek: Kelso the German Shepherd has a satisfied liook on his face:rolleyes:
OH made the sarnies - it's a good job it was such a bargain or we wouldn't have been laughing:rotfl: :rotfl:
Well cheese again tomorrow:rotfl:0 -
Not an NSD for us today.
We went to a garden centre to look for some cheap plants.
DS's got hungry - no problem, as we had snacks..... after they where gone, my 3y old was still hungry, so ended up spending £6.05 in the farm shop for food. I didn't have any cash on me, and they only accepted cc for spends over £5.
I've done our MrT online shop, which will be delivered on Tuesday. After the discount etc it will hopefully come to about £85. That will be all the bulk buying for this month.....
I am off to search the other threads for some ideas on Halloween....

Hi peeps,
I'd like to join this month please. I've never done this challenge before, but have recently discovered the wonderful world of meal planning and have already chopped, pared and diced my food budget down...now I'm ready to liquidise it! So I'm going for £70 for the whole month of Sept. Good luck everyone!

Well, we spent this am moving slabs at the allotment and then we took my DD1 and DD2 swimming this pm and we were absolutely shattered. We nipped to Asda to pick up the free News of the World food (peas waffles and fish fingers) and we both decided we wanted a chinese as we were too tired to cook (i would normally take this out of our food budget)....on the way home i had an attack of 'guilts' thinking of this thread and so i cooked the chicked thighs i had defrosted for tea earlier and we had them with pitta and houmous and natural yoghurt, cucumber and peppers....they were lovely.
I then went on to make parsnip and apple soup ready for work tomorrow (the parnips had been marked down from Mr T's on Friday...yum yum).
I've got to keep this up to acheive my budget this month.0 -

I'm going well for groceries this month so far - as in haven't spent much - but haven't really been having proper meals either!! I think perhaps I've been taking this thing too far... it's so addictive.
Ent budget has been blown out of the water though, grrr. Will keep on with it, if only as an experiment, but will be doing something different next month! I guess it's all about learning, anyway - my main goal at the moment is to get a grip on my actual spending habits, so if my guesstimates are off it just means the budget was unrealistic (that's my story, anyway). And if I'm careful I might just be able to get away with it... *looks hopeful*
EDIT: Just noticed I'm not down on the list for this month - could you please put me down for 168? Thanks!March 2020 grocery challenge $921.76/$500AU
