Always keep my flour in plastic tubs with lids but this is a new bag i was just going to empty in the tub. Well that did it.. all the cupboard out, nothing in there so disinfected it all anyway, cleaned it all and put it back. Needless to say large bag of flour in the bin. Hate wasting it. anyone else had this?? What do yoy all store your flours in ??
Me thinks i now need a coffee and a sit down- or should i say calm down.
Welcome to all you new people, everything here is totally addictive so be warned lol.
Edit to say, I too had to have a nice coffee and a sit down, to recover
taking deep breaths.......
This happened to me.
I bought a bag of Mr A's own flour and went to make something with it that afternoon. Well, I opened it and it had loads of moving things in it, I couldnt look. I screamed and jumped back by about 2 miles
Lucky my mum was here so she checked it and she had to wrap it up and seal it so none could get out. We took it back to Mr A and had to fill out a form and I got a Mr A card with 5 pound credit on it, to encourage me back again. (It worked)
But I cant stand things like that.
I too emptied out my cupboard and checked every thing, I have my flour and stuff like that in Tupperware (and empty squash bottles now too) but I still checked everything.
My mum put celotape over the top and I made her wrap it tight in a Asda bag,

Good luck everyone for September.

Ok this is my first go at this!
2 adults,
breakfast
lunch for me (OH has a subsidised canteen, and pays out of his "pocket money" for that!)
evening meals
snacks
Oh and 2 dogs, but just bought a huge sack of food so shouldn't be a problem this month...
I will try for £160, which is just under £40 a week? I get paid on the 23rd but OH on the last Thursday of the month, so I think I will go with calender months to make life easy!
Wish me luck!

LOL nikki I was just thinking that I would limit myself post wise on GC (as I can waffle a bit) and its funny just as I think it you have suggested it.
I have added my other post on to this one and deleted it as a separate post now. You are right, this is the GC thread and there are many other places for other chat and such like. Thanks again nikki and MrsM for looking after this thread, and everyone else for their help/tips/ideas.
Was actually just on to update my sig.
Spent £4.04 in the Coop, on 2 x boxes of bio powder (bogof and 33% extra free), punnet peaches (wanted kiwis but none and the ones in Tesco were bricks!) and 1L local milk reduced to 40p which will be used to make a batch of DS porridge.
Hope all well.

Make sure you ask about a childcare fund - I get nearly all my childcare paid for, which is the only way we can afford for me to be at Uni. There are also Govt hardship funds which the Uni administers - don't feel proud, you will no doubt be paying back student loans at some point so apply for everything you can. DFS aka Ellie x
Thank you for that, where to i apply to? Is it the SAAS? They are paying my fees. The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0 -
Hi,
I have lurked on here long enough! Please put me down for £250 for September for me,OH,DS x2 both working and living at home. OH comes home for lunch most days, I have packed lunch as does DS1, DS2 doesnt work till evening so makes own lunch and then has tea at Grannies ( saves me money! - No I usually get her a Asda card once a year with a decent amount on - will add that in)
I am determined to try some recipies. My top tip is to 'copy and paste' any recipies into a 'word' document then you have you very own MSE recipie book and you don't have to try and remember which thread you read the recipie in.
Luckily for us we have a very good Aldi near to work, so Asda has been sacked for most things. I never go to Mr T's and occasionally go to Mr S's. I try to support the local market for fruit and veg.Jane 21120
