Although I think of it as my Aug challenge as we started 15/8, this month's challenge is over for me now as DH gets paid 15th of the month, so that is our starting point.
Declaring at £237.18 for the month for groceries only, from budget of £310. This is only for debit card transactions used for paying for groceries, see more info below about full spending for month.
Full budget for the month for groceries, household, meals out/takeaways and diesel was £1,200 and declaring at £664.29. We had £250 cash in the house which we've been using, £100 left for this weekend, so add that to the total = £914.29, still £285 under the £1,200 budget, which has been our main goal, not just the saving money on the groceries one.
We've been on hols for 3 weeks to lots of takeaways, lunches out and trips to the bakers in there, so quite happy with this month's achievement.MFW Challenge (Tgt Date Nov 07): ACHIEVED FEB 07!
Mthly Savings (Tgt 60% of Inc): Average 41.67% (but we have just paid for a new kitchen!)
Savings Goal £500k (Target Date 50th B'Day Nov 17): 30.41%0 -

Hi,
I got some lemon curd in the cupboard don't normally eat it but it was gales and at 23p a jar could not really refuse.
Any how I have one quick (thick)question in your recipe you state ½- 1 jar lemon curd does mean that half of a whole jar as in one jar or does that mean between half and a whole jar.
Thanks in advance.
Yours
Calley
Sorry for confusion between half and one jar although i tend to double the recipe and use a full jar that way

So far so good this week only spent £4.73 on groceries taking total for Sept to £85.70 out of £300. This is including 12 packs of Soda crystals I got for cost price from work (costs 47p per pack) the shopping this week should come in about £60, hopefully less as we have a day out on Sunday. Fingers crossed for a good day. Hope you all have a good weekendEvery days a School day!0

Hiya guys,
Managed ok today from stores so another NSD, most unexpected.
Ran out of fabric conditioner the other day but have been following your suggestion re vinegar and agree that it works great and can't remember when I last bought soap powder as use it so sparingly, it just seems to go on for ever.
If I go shopping tomorrow I have to push mr in his wheelchair, which means I can't carry much and push him, what fun, but it keeps the spends down:j
Lovely cup cakes pictured earlier, but just can't cook cakes/bicuits as would have to eat them, probably all of them he he!
Good luck all

Hi Everyone went to Lidl this afternoon. They still have some f&v half price. Brought salad potatoes 49p and cucumber 32p spent £11.38 in there. Then went to Asda and spent £25.69. I did notice that the hovis white bread mix which was 27p has gone up to 77p each. There were peices of beef 2 packs for £10.
Shaz-mum-of-2 those cakes look lovely.
Have a good evening everyone.2025 Decluttering 10472⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Came home from work for lunch and OH declared that there wasn't anything in to eat. I hadn't put the breadmaker on so I did tend to agree! I nipped to the local co-op and bought two shepherds pies - reduced to 90p each. I had to walk past the chippy to get there as well, so it could have been much worse!
Completed the meal plan for next week and shopping at Mr T tomorrow as I have a £10 voucher. It's amazing how the list gets shorter because I have items in the freezer.
I feel very optimistic for coming in under budget :roflFirst Direct Loan @ 7.9% £13,076.03/£20,250

Evnin all, done dood a bit of a shop in MrT last night, eggs ,tea bags, sugar, you know the type of thing. It all came to £62.56, ah now you see, that included a breadmaker at £42.97 so that doesn,t count, then £14.60 worth of coupons, leaving in the wine and a pack of storage containers, making a grand total of £4.60. I love this challenge.
Oh and I found £2.00 in the street, thats £4.23 in two weeks!!! Who,s got this dosh to throw away?:T:jDabbler in all things moneysaving.Master of none:o

It's nice to be back in the routine of work again after having the summer holidays off. Now I've changed jobs I have more time to prepare nice meals so I've been ultra organised this week. Used the slow cooker to make a double quantity of chilli and also some home made burgers. I've also made more Twinks Hobnobs, fairy cakes, rock cakes and a lemon cake loaf.
So far out of our budget of £350 we have £171 left. I've written the menu plan up to the end of the month and we have enough meat and meal ingredients in the freezer thanks to lots of whoopsied items that I've picked up. :j Will just need to buy milk, salad, veg and fresh stuff as we go along.
Tesco Insurance sent me a £50 gift card as they couldn't match the cheaper quotes I was getting from other companys so I will be using that at some point.
Anyway have a good weekend everyone.Mortgage Free in 3 part 2 challenge - pay off £9000
