I've just updated my sig, spent £9 odd in the local shops (butchers etc) and my sister did some shopping for me when she did their supermarket trip. I'm not able to travel far at the moment so I'm only shopping locally with another sister; both my sisters are being really great but I'll be so glad to get back to normal!!... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

Hi every-one im finally finished on august so can i please declare £354.79 for august thanx angelnikki.
Mrs m , you already have my new reduced amount on the list for september thanx .
It will be a real struggle this month as i have less budget and we ve used up the majority of our freezer and stores .I may need help of meal ideas by the time we get to the end of the month. We do have savings to get through oh s redundancy but really need to try not to use them if possible.
To leebarton re the fuel spends i track mine in my sig every month ,i don t go on a thread about it not sure if one exists.I do find writting it down helps me limit what i waste and makes me walk further.
Good luck to every-one on your challenges and hugs where appropriate.Life is short, smile while you still have teeth0 -

Just made my "well-planned" trip to Tesco armed with my shopping list and the vouchers Id been forgeting to use up(mainly clubcard ones). Took my £5 daily express one from last weeks paper also.
Bought 2 copies of the Star and ripped out the vouchers for the Rustlers big one(like a big mac)so I also bought those-worth £1.95 each.Got 3 chickens for £10 so thats the next 3 sunday lunches sorted-we don't eat much meat midweek.. Bought some tins of broken mandarins for 11p per tin, these are lovely in with a trifle(8p orange jelly)also got some fruit cocktail which is now 23p as thats nice in a fruit cobler with some mixed dried fruit or sultanas. To use my voucher off tinned toms I had to spend a £1 on them so got 6 tins of value toms at 19p per tin so I think they are a penny or two cheaper than before.Bananas were only 77p per kg so got some of those too-basically only bought bargains and items with my vouchers which were "needed" rather than buying aimlessly.
8 loaves of value bread-37p per loaf so thats a weeks supply of bread for us and six 2 litre bottles of "the one" milk which is £1 per bottle. Good date on it-it will keep until 22nd and we normally use 2 litres per day so a weeks milk it will be(near enough).Total was £60.56 before multiple savings and vouchers. I paid £33.68 woohoooooooooooo! Got some till spits which included the 5p off per litre on fuel but doubt I will use it as it works out same cost as my local garage!(petrolprices.com for updates via email)
Now going to change the proposed Asda delivery to next Friday instead of Wednesday. Can't see I will need a lot during the week-just a bit of F&V I'm guessing. Took out some steaks from the freezer today and chopped them up for a beef stew in the SlowCooker(they were all reduced)I never seem to get around to cooking them so thats tonights tea sorted-=just need to chuck in a few more ingredients now. Also used up some boiled pots Id frozen-perfect in stews so Im glad they didnt get wasted. Now I need to take back a tin of paint I bought as I found we already have a new tin-so will swap it for gloss. Glad I kept the receipt!I tend to keep them all for at least 2 weeks now-just in case I need them.Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults0 -
Hi All,
just updating to see my signature. Just spent a whopping £97 on shopping/groceries....so embarrassing when that's what people spend the whole month!:o
However, should last for a couple of weeks and there's a lot of non-perishables in there....I hope....
Off to do a load of batch cooking now!

Well todays shopping was slightly over budget in Mr T's was £62.80, (went away without my £5 vouchers - wasted £10!!!!)- included in this was nappies for putting away as first grandchild due at christmas, semi chem for washing up liquid, kitchen cloths and hand wash came to £3.86 so todays spend takes the total to just over £150 out of £300 for the month - not too bad freezer is full, hubby got dozen free range eggs for nothing, only thing forgot was leeks for the soup - they might not notice as difficult just to go for one thing!! away to watch x factor now with cheap plonk!!!Every days a School day!0

Are you mad?:rotfl: Form a queue .... We have 1 spare bedroom but a big loft with electrics etc and a basement where I could make room :rotfl: ...might help me get my freezer run down
Well we have just had marmite on toast for tea..... we are addicted and as we had a "proper" cooked lunch we didn't fancy anything much -although we have made quite a dent in the new loaf
Tomorrow is going to be leftover chicken with roasties, hm stuffing and veggies -(when i made broc/cauli cheese the other day i ended up with 3 tubs of it in the freezer and a tub of cheese sauce) -so its an easy day... time for lots more knitting/x stitch :j
