Evening everyone, just logged on to update signature.

Hi everyone
I have updated my sig & still within budget!
I spent £51.32 at Mr T today but this was the main weekly shop & is 'normal' or perhaps a little below (hence setting 1st month at £200) but have brought home about 1/3 more stuff than usual! (And as over £50 got the fuel voucher, which will make a difference for me).
Got some chicken breasts at 1/3 off & from 'happy' chickens! Although chicken (and eggs) are available relatively cheaply I do have concerns about how they are kept & would prefere, if possible, to get chicken & eggs that are free range or, at a push, barn.
I had run completely out of penne; had previously been buying the standard 500g bag but have bought a 3KG bag. This will last ages & works out cheaper in the long run.
Have also taken note of the other threads on OS about using 1/2 & 1/2 washing powder & soda crystals. Had previously been buying the own brand anyway but have bought the 'value' washing powder & mixed with soda crystals (that I found I had in anyway!). Have done a couple of washes & are fine. The whites are in now, so we will see how they come out ...
Also, take DD to her Dad today & he gave me 1/2 doz packs of crisps. He buys multi-packs (branded - which is mad as he has less money than I do) & this is the flavour he doesn't like but I do. So Free Food!
So on the whole I am pretty happy!

Jumlink I have used half powder half soda crystals in my clothes wash for over a year now and we are very happy with the results too. We buy a large 5kg Bold powder every 6 months or so, and the DriPak 1Kg soda crystals maybe every 3 months.MFW #185

Spent 1.97 this evening.
97p as Somerfield have Apple Juice on BOGOF and a £1 on some reduced sausages in the co-op.
Came home to find my lovely brother cutting my lawn :j I did ask him said I would pay and then he said he would not take any money. Told him if he did not take the £10 offered I would shove it up his nose :rotfl:
Still have 2.90 (52.90) until the 1st. But I have fruit until the middle of next week and then it will reduced to clear fruit and veggies for the week after that that will hopefully last me until the 1st. Also I have uht milk and powdered milk so should be ok.

Just had my beef stew and dumplings for supper as it didnt get finished for teatime. Trifle in the fridge for tomorrow and thawing out my chicken from freezer as I froze the new ones. Just managed to get todays shopping in the freezer. Now making parsnip and apple soup-the cookers' are from my tree so it won't cost too much. That will sort out my lunches for next week to take into work. Think I may do a double batch of twinks tomorrow or the peanut butter cookies-or both if I'm in the mood. My recipe collection from here is growing fast! I must try a mealplan again-even if its only a two day one!Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults0

Well, spent a grand total of £6.90 in ASDA last night. Got a lovely whoopsie dinner though..nice fresh baguette 5p, slice of ham 10p, slice of beef 11p, slice of turkey with stuffing 5p, 2 praline/choc croissants 15p each!
So made a nice 'club sub' with mustard, and had half each, plus croissants for dessert. Yum and the whole thing cost 61p, bargain!
Also picked up 10 mini rolls for 10p which went in the freezer with a fair sized chunk of Danish salami which was 5p- got an old cheese and tomato pizza kicking about in the freezer so the salami will go nicely on that.
As for the non whoopsies, got a massive jar of Marmite for £2 which felt extravagant but I have got loads of wholemeal bread in the freezer and Marmite on toast is a nice healthy, filling snack for me. Boyfriend prefers Vegemite though, well he is Ozzie!
Also got 2 bags of porridge oats (500g bags @ around 40p each). Was AMAZED at the porridge section, it had been DECIMATED! All the large bags of cheap porridge was gone. Is there a national oat shortage or something!! Could have got the 1kg bag for about 10p cheaper but I'm not complaining..our local rip off shop does oats for 85p/500g!!!
Talking of our local rip off shop, the milk in there is a whopping £1.50 for 3.5 pints. Well I got the same size in ASDA for £1, couldn't believe it. I mean it's 3 for the price of 2! Must stock up and stick it in the fridge like my nan used to..lasts longer that way too (we live on the third floor and tend to keep milk up here all day so they go off waay too easily).
Oh..and I also picked up a huge jar of choc/hazelnut spread for £1.55..I love it on my porridge! It's ASDA own..tastes just as good as Nutella IMO. Also got the own brand tea (the one up from the smartprice) at 68p for 40 bags just to try it..I can't tell the difference with that and the expensive teas to be honest! Good stuff.
Hope everyone else is doing well. We are blasting our total this month but it is more necessity (lots of unexpected bills!). We have literally got £25 to last til the last day of the month but have a fair few meals in the freezer. Got a small chicken to go in the slow cooker tomorrow (well, later on!!) for a 'roast' dinner. Can't wait!!!
