Spent 70p on 8 muffins. These are bread ones not the sweet ones. They where down to 35p for 4 on reduced to clear.

This leaves me £4.90 for the rest of the month (it is really £54.90 but want to see if we can manged until the first) Have a coupon for a free pint of milk from Tescos. Near one tomorrow so will pop in and get that.

I did spend £7 on getting in supplies for my mother as well. And that came from my grocery budget. And I will not let her pay me back:D And she always scolds me :rotfl:

For me it is hit and miss and depends who else is in. As we a few who just hang around awaiting and then grab everything meaning you can't get anywhere near even to look.

Mind you I did get some 4 X quarter pound burgers for 25p the other day but that is not my usual sainburys one a little further a way.

Some days there are tons of fruit and veg and other days nothing. The other day I got a couple bags of salad and couple bags of citrus fruits and a bag of pears. Paid between 10p-15p each.

I have approx 200, but I just admit I do read them for pleasure sometimes instead of picking up a novel.

Have just unearthed Delis's Complete Cookery Course and found the mincemeat recipe in there so will be making some of that as have been given 2 large carrier bags full of cooking apples, the rest will be peeled and chooped and put into the freezer for crumbles etc during the coming months, lovely cheap pudds.

Hi mama67 - think you'll love the Mincemeat - I've been making it for years and have previously made it for friends who's kids hated Mincemeat until they tasted this one.;)

I'm also disappearing under a mound of Cooking apples, have cored, peeled and sliced loads for the Freezer as running out of recipe ideas - getting fed up of Crumbles but last week made an Eve's Pudding for a change as my Nana used to make this when we were kids and it was a hit here.:D

  • Morning everyone - didn't get a chance to Post yesterday but it was an NSD for me and should be today too. We had a lovely Beef Casserole & Dumplings last night, used some Stout that was leftover from the Xmas Puds I made the other day so it was extra tasty.:D Had some Semolina for afters, found an unopened bag of it at the back of the cupboard that I'd forgotten I'd bought so made that for the first time and was surprised how nice it was, the recipe on the bag said to add some Vanilla which I did and then for the last few minutes I added some raisins. The girls loved it.:D

Got the BM on at the moment , getting the girls up for School in a few mins and planning to stay away from the Shops today, getting some Housework done today. Got an easy Dinner tonight, Breaded fish and HM Chips & Mushy Peas, for afters I'm making a Bread & butter Pud - DD2 has my HM bread in her lunchbox but won't eat the crusts so I cut them off, keep them in the freezer and then when I have enough I make a Bread & Butter Pudding.;)

Hope you all have a good day - just seen the weather forecast - think we'll need the Bread Pud tonight.:p

I've been out on a course this week so no lunches have been needed (but I took some SP crisps & cereal bars with me as I was usually hungry again by 2pm when I was heading home!) and today we're being taken out for a meal :D DD is on free school meals still, so my grocery budget is looking a lot healthier! :rotfl::rotfl:

I need to buy milk today, and we had chippy last night (£2 for a portion of chips & 2 sausage! ) but we should be fine. Its just the milk, we seem to be going through tonnes of the stuff ATM as we're both having cereal for breakfast!
