Really want to sell

This is a lovely looking place. The one thing that I noticed was the lack of much sense of the outside space. Is it on a main road, for example? It looks like it could be and that might be putting people off.wanttosell wrote: »Who is going to buy all the flats/smaller cottages now then? Although I agree prices need to come down, and have being saying that for years, peeps want too much too soon too.
This is the crux of the argument really. With the greatest respect, what you seem to be saying is 'prices need to come down, but not until I've sold my house'! If prices are falling, why is a long drawn out decline better than a quick correction? Doesn't that just prolong the agony?
The trouble is people, outside the London commuting zone at least, can't raise this kind of finance anymore and even if they can they're holding off to see what prices are going to do. It's a difficult situation and I do sympathise as you seem to be realistic and not greedy or deluded like some vendors. So sorry, not really any positive info for you...'Never keep up with Joneses. Drag them down to your level. It's cheaper.' Quentin Crisp0 -
Ah now that would be my dream house...absolutely gorgeous! We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

There is a large back garden thats very private, but difficult to photo.

That wasnt what I was saying, but obviously we all want to acheive what we can, thats only natural. Of course a quick correction wouls be best for all, so we can all move on, however it never seems to happen that way. I dont hold out much hope, with all the press, and even if I do find a buyer, the chance of getting to completion is getting me down.

Because your house is so perfect cottage look I wondered if any of the magazines focusing on homes and interiors with classified in the back might be worth looking at for advertising. I can't imagine choosing a new house over this perfection in the same area for a similar price.0

Good idea,my last house had a feature in Country living might try that again, I did get some viewings from that.
Got my first viewing tomorrow, have reduced to under 250k stamp duty, so comparably its price seems good in the local market now.
Thanks for the nice comments. Fingers crossed for me eh!
Viewer not sold yet but you never know, the person who bought my last house wasnt even on the market, and we still tied it up.0 -
We just bought (moved in 3 weeks ago!) a lovely Grade II listed timber-framed house, and we sold our Victorian terrace. Our new house must have been on the market for slightly over a year between first going on the market and us moving in - a sale in the middle fell through. In the end, the seller had two offers on the same day - and picked ours. So there you are - there is hope!0
