Worried about the market. Hope to get some viewings soon, just gone on the market.
Thanks, I know price is a big thing and will be playing that by ear.
It should be goingon Rightmove soon. I know its justoverstamp duty and know I will have to take offers
All I hear is doom for peeps trying to sell to any positve stories would cheer me up too.

It looks a lovely house, I'd buy it. I tried to buy a similar house recently but my wife wouldn't let me. It's unique. That may well be its downfall. You will find a lot of people are scared off from a house which is different, but there will be a small number of people who will fall in love regardless of all the potential problems.
My tip would to try and be around during the viewings. Then when the viewers say "roof could be a problem, did you use lime wash on the walls etc. etc." you can answer their questions and stop their worries.
If you are desparate to sell, try pricing it at something that first time buyers can afford - you may get more interest at £225,000.0 -
Its utterly gorgeous. I love it. Good luck.0

Thank you.
I normally do do the viewings on previous houses I have sold, but dont really want to be this time.
FTBers Well I certainly wouldnt have expected it to be a FTB house really, It certainly wasnt my first step on the property ladder.
For its age its in Good order, it has been reroofed, and brand new central heating a year ago, all new rads etc.
There isnt a lot of work.
As for being different well its timber framed so insurance is limited, but its a common build round here.0 -
really stunning!
not sure on the area or prices but just wanted to say it's beautiful and I'm sure you'll get some interest
Good luck0 -

There aren't many well paid jobs in that part of the world - if you are within driving distance of a fast train to London I'd put that on there to attract the city commuting/2 home market (otherwise you're limiting yourself to retirees and similar).0

All the houses I have owned have been listed, I love old buildings so not a concern to me. Granted they cost a bit more, and work can cost a bit more, but nothing beats living in an old house IMO.
Sure you dont want a viewing davsidipp?0 -
Remember the average age of a first time buyer now is over 30, so will be looking for a family home, not a 2 bed flat.0

Its an hour and a quarter to London, plenty of peeps do commute. I am not of retirement age (thirties) as were the previous owners.0
