Hadn't been feeling too good, so went to doctor's on Tuesday and he thought i may have acute appendicitis so he called me an ambulance and went to A&E. Bumpy ride to say the least.

Yes, they tend to be. Especially as the councils have given up fixing the roads.

Turned out to be the case

Nice to see a doctor who can diagnose acute appendicitis and not blame it on something like pregnancy.

so was operated on on Tuesday night - complications so not just keyhole.

You want to try and avoid complications - they make things complicated.

Of course you know what that means. Means they couldn't find the sellotape.

All was fairly okay until Friday - i had just been moved to a different department. Don't know if the nurse was having a bad day or something, but after buzzing and asking for something for the pain at 10:30, never saw anyone until 12:20 when i asked again. I got 2 paracetamol and when i asked if i could get anything else, was told no. Was basically told in a very confrontational manner that i'll get what she gives me and not to argue. Needless to say i decided i'd be leaving the next day. The pain was pad enough, but with the heat in there it was agony. All the other staff were very helpful and friendly so don't know what her problem was - i've been in too much pain to talk much so i know i can't be anything i've said or done.

She is paid to look after you - that is her job. It is not up to you to try to second guess yourself as to how you can appease a witch.

Was considering making a complaint but i don't know her name

A time on duty and a vague description is all that is needed.

and after asking those 2 times, didn't make any other requests. Really didnt want her near me after that.

    Understandable.

Anyhoo - i'm not going to be around much (like that's new) so just to let you know why you may not be hearing from me for quite a while.

And remember all those times you were told to slow down and ease the pressure on yourself, otherwise your body would do it for you?

    Well here you are... :naughty:

So, to avoid history repeating itself with a chunk of your internals a bit more neccesary than an appendix, you MUST rest for the full period! No "I feel OK, I'll just do a bit of work" crap!

Your body can up the ante. You don't want that - you *really* don't want that.

    George

    You get well soon.
Bob in her outfit to cheer you up. Apologies if any nurses are reading this.

And before anyone asks, no i couldn't get into this my bum is tooooo big.:o

From the way it's riding up at the back, hers must be too big too.

I'm sure George would say that would just add to the attraction... ;)

When you are up to it. See if you can follow this up. It is disgusting. I am so ashamed this has happened to someone who is so kind and helps everyone.

Porge he is right. You have to listen. YOU come first.

It took me a long time to recover after i lost my sight but in a way being so ill was a blessing. It helped me to realise what was important. You will move on from this and life will be better. Honest.

I did actually go to a party in an outfit like that once! I looked quite good too (and I used to be a nurse, although I didn't dress like that for work!)

George, Hope you get well soon  (Yes, okay, that probably won't help!)

    DO REST
    DON'T DO ANYTHING

and if you are in pain maybe follow my example and scream 'I'm in pain.....I need morphine....Where's my morphine'. Particularly when other visitors are around or an MP is visiting. Keep yelling till someone comes. It worked for me (although I can't actually remember because of the morphine!) Did make my friend who was going in for the same op two weeks later very nervous :D but who's idea was it to put her through on the phone before my morphine.

    All the best,
    love B x

When they mess around with your intestine it normally takes a while to settle down afterwards and that's on top of the post op recovery. He should be okay provided he doesn't overdo it and can sleep. If you can't get comfortable in bed its a bit of a pain (nightmare or killer don't seem appropriate words either and I bet they won't let me have !!!!!! 'one that bugs people up the !!!!') but he should be able to sleep on his back and one side until the scar heals.
