Will possibly have enough to settle the bank loan - will need to ask for another early settlement value from them. I think using the rule of 78 i will save only about £40-£50 but it's better in my pocket than theirs. Just hope i have done the numbers right and amn't a month ahead of myself.
If it's important - then re-do the calculations.Got a week's extension to my sick leave - noticed the wound was weeping a little yesterday,
Nasty!
Quick - make it happy. Telling it jokes should stop the weeping...but i just phoned the surgery and they passed the extension request on to the doc. Not had a checkup or anything,
You've had a non-keyhole appendectomy. There's no doc on the planet that's going to think that will have healed by now...Still taking things easy and stating away from the computer - just so i don't spend a few hours in the one position and regret it later.
Get a sun tan. Good for you Vit D. Stops all sorts of things.Hope everyone else is keeping better.
I don't have a huge hole in me - that's better in my book.

I am sure you have
Got a week's extension to my sick leave - noticed the wound was weeping a little yesterday, but i just phoned the surgery and they passed the extension request on to the doc. Not had a checkup or anything, but will arrange one for the end of next week as i'll hopefully be walking more and will need to get some strength back before going back to work.
Make sure you are fully recovered young George

Well we all regret the hours spent in one position- not good at all it can lead to all sorts of complications:D:rotfl: R&R is far better;)Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

Not putting up new balance yet as payments have still to clear.
First day back at work and i took the advice here and from folks at work - only did a half day. Ouch!
Thought i may have been okay to go back full time but i definately am not up to that yet. Was dizzy in the morning having walked to the train station, but was also quite sore as the day progressed. Will need to make sure i pace myself.
I may have just paid off my loan, so will hopefully be updating the balances soon. Was a bit of a pain to work out the rule of 78 and trying to factor in the 58 days interest they add, but i eventually got there. I beleive that loans after 2005 should not be done this way, but it looks like this is how it has been done - will need to look into this further.
Loan 10,000
Interest 1,794.08
Payment 245.71
months 48
rule of 78 - (no. of parts interest divided into) n*(n+1)/2
48*(48+1)/2
=1176
I just paid month 38, so 10 months remain
Subtract from this the number of days interest (58 days standard) - i need to add 14 days to this as that's how long ago my alst payment was.
10-((58+14)/365*12)
=7.632877
n*(n+1)/2
=7.632877*(7.632877+1)/2
=32.94684
32.94684/1176*1794.08
saving from early repayment = £50.26
I just made a payment of 2406.84 and had 2457.10 remaining so unless it's a huge coincidence, i'd have to say that they are using the rule of 78 method instead of the Consumer Credit (Early Settlement) Regulations 2004. It took me long enough to figure out the first method!!

New balance: £2,470
Only got confirmation today that loan was paid off. Now totalling up the total amount of interest i paid - well, it's a hobby
Not really feeling great. Was not well at the weekend, but thought i was okay to go in to work on Monday - nope. Took Tuesday off to have a good rest and recharge my batteries. Back in to work today... Might go to see the doc tomorrow as my wound still hurts quite bad at times (well, just below it). Might not be fully recovered as i'm still tired and feel weak, but at least i got a report out today.
Hope everyone else is doing a bit better. After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91
