Just had a look at my finances to see how much i can afford to spend - going to a wedding in a few months time.
I know i could be a little more DFW about it, but this is the current state of affairs.
Inv Club.....15 (Been in this for years with family friends and don't want to stop or people will be asking why)
Rent........280 (:o includes food and bills)
Golf......... -
Denplan.....27.37
Travel.....132.50
lunch........80 (includes all monthly spend by me but mostly lunch)
loan........245.71
dad........170
virgin.........0
rbs..........87 (final month at 3.97%)
hbos........ - (sending appeal letter tomorrow)
ltsb.........31 (4.9% until May)
egg.........40 (0% until December)
So i have about £10.50 left over at the end of the month.
I should have looked at this before i did my Christmas shopping.
I knew it was going to be tight once the virgin 0% with £25pm payment ended. I guess i've just got used to spending as i have - always good to have a springclean on the finances. Job going okay right now so might get a payrise out of it. Will be keeping an eye on this though and keep trying to pay as little interest as possible. After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91

Hi Buffy.
Got an egg card (£2k) in November and just had a credit check last month. Will probably wait until March before applying if my appeal doesn't succeed. I've got about £5,400 that's not at 0% which irritates me. I might be able to transfer to the Virgin card if they can offer me a deal at the end of February - they are currently offering a 6.9% LOB deal so i still have that as an option.
You're doing so well on your finances as well as everything else. Just hope you're not getting frazzled in the process. After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91

New balance: £14,594
A few curveballs this month, but all looking good right now.
Got letter from HBoS this morning - appeal not successful, so not getting a 0% card from them.
Was offerred a 0% for 9 months deal with LTSB but have a balance with them right now.
Curveball - dad asked to have a look at my finances to see if i was doing okay and was surprised about the amount i was paying each month. Also not happy that i only had about £10 left at the end of the month to either save or spend on myself. Result was he increased the loan he had given me - he knew i was putting in an appeal for HBoS so said as mum is getting so little interest on her savings, he would do a deal at 3% (over 2 years) and increased the loan by 4k.
New plan - pay off LTSB balance (did that last night).
Once i get a nil balance statement through, transfer part of the RBS balance to 0% for 9 months.
The remainder of the 4k will go towards the RBS balance so i will not need to pay a transfer fee on the full amount.
Now owe dad 4250 + 1420 from original loan.
I can increase payments to dad a little bit and also throw more money at the debts as i will effectively be getting rid of one card payment. Possibly another £60, but will be using a bit of that to build up a safety cushion in the finances.
This means both my egg and LTSB accounts will stop the 0% at the same time. Will close the RBS card, but don't know if i should keep hold of the Virgin one or not. Will need to have a look next month at the payments and see where that will leave me in about 9 moths. I think i will have about 2.5k left on the cards so it may be worth just closing the virgin account and applying again in about 9 months - i should have some surplus cash built up to deal with any shortfall if i can't get the full limit required.
So, finances seem to be taking shape quite well. Work is still really busy, but it looks like the stuff iwas working on has been a great success and all the offices are gettign a few calls each day with new enquiries. Won't know for a few months whether it will pay off, but there is definately a fair bit of interest generated which is great. Now i just need to catch up with the rest of my work which was already behind schedule. Might need to spend a few weekends doing more coding to get it aout the way and at least set up so we can see if there are any bugs that need worked out.

Hmm, got that a little wrong.
I have £40 available each month it seems.
Forgot that dad had reduced my rent a while back - didn't realise until i tried to update the SO and things didn't add up. Hopefully i'll be able to pay things off a little quicker now though.
rent: £250
dad's loan payment: £200
Just cancelled my equifax trial so that's another thing crossed off

Just a quick update.
Have recalculated my loan amount and it looks like i can knock off over an extra £100 off the amount owed. Next month it will go up a little due to transfer charges but it's still moving in the right direction. As of today, everything is on 0% for the next 9 months and i think i'll close down both of my other cards once i get a nil balance statement (Virgin and RBS). I should only need to transfer about £2k at the end of the 9 months so hopefully i'll be able to get an offer from somewhere as the amount i owe will be around 11k in total (including dad of approx 4k).
How can they resist?
Totally knackered right now and still majorly busy at work. Going to see about my shoulder/neck on Saturday so hopefully that'll get sorted.
Hope you're all peachy. After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91

Hi Gorgeous
Good to see you;re getting the finances into shape - shame about the fact you;re already on Virgin in view of their new deal of 0% on purchases and BT's for at least 12 months,,actually "shame" is too neutral...PANTS is a better word methinks . Still the last one served the purpose methinks
Really good news about the work front and that you are clearly making a name for yourself :T:T
Take care and make sure you give yourself enough time to get your shoulder/neck sorted out..:grouphug::grouphug:...otherwise Aunty Wol might be inclined to "do a Numpty" on you (quote ZTD - "his screams could be heard across five counties" :rotfl::rotfl:).....BUT to quote Numptyafterwards ...... "all sorted"
No pain no gain Hun:D:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Just had my neck cracked, crunched and twisted.
He could tell just by the way i walked that there was a problem - also my left shoulder is higher than my right now which may need a few visits to sort.
It wasn't too bad but i have felt a little dizzy a few hours later.
I'm going to have a quick nap before dinner and hopefully i'll be able to get back out of bed.
Unreal how strong his hands are - was feeling like i was getting a chinese burn, but he always works wonders and the end result is all that matters. I'll just chalk it up to me being a wimp
I was hoping to get my programme finished for the beginning of April at the latest. HA!
Looks liek i'll need to do a bit more work at home, but i won't be able to access my works computer from home anymore. Never thought about how much bandwidth would be used when doing that so we only have about 1GB to last until about the 10th. I'm going to severley limit my internet access at home so it doen's slow down the system for the next few months so i may not be on the board too much. Got too much work to do anyway. Make sure you've got "Enable software compression" enabled under PPP settings for your VPN. It's not miraculous, but every little helps. Why were those smileys removed anyway? (insert confused smiley)

Hey George (and gang!) Just popping in to see how you are getting along my lovely.
Things still moving in the right direction?
I'm so sorry to hear about the meet - I've been to ones that involve people whose faces I actually know cos we've met up before and not been able to find them for ages in a big sprawling pub. It must be about a million times more difficult if you don't know what they look like.
Those free trial gambling sites ads are blimmin' everywhere aren't they? I think they're evil.
Am V proud of you that you said No to bruv though. That's a toughie. Well done that man! :T:T:T
Take care hon,
