I just want to share this with all DIR members, after many disgruntled letters and telephone calls to DIR I finally came across an advertisment in our local paper, stating 'we can get you out of your timeshare/points' Hesitantly I rang the number and was given some really good advice. I was told that this company, who I got to add dosent charge any up front fees can legally release you from your timeshare. We mad an appointment to go and see them, they were very helpful and polite and the entire process was painless. Within 40 minutes of us arriving we had completed all the nessessary legal paperwork and signed on the dotted line. Yipeeeeee we are now free of what had become such a burden to us. Give them a ring they CAN HELP the number I rang is 0161 6695801 and ask for David Pearce0

So, before your post and account are deleted for being spam, exactly what did this marvellous company do for you that released you from the contract?loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.0 -
er, powerpack, i believe you have been conned,or are you trying to con the people on here what is the company name that david pearce runs i'm interested to find out, do tell.0
-
If you 'google the telephone number it turns out to be:-
International Vacations
20, Church Street West
Radcliffe
Manchester M26 2SQ
Get it on Google Maps and it turns out to be a boarded up building. 'Powerpack' has a problem.0 -
Googling the telephone number also brings it up on Gumtree where there is an advert for 'home based workers (sales)'.
Is this because the building is boarded up ???0 -
whilst reading all this, i begin to wonder, do people actually read what they sign up for? and do they researsh the scheme?
its just the same as anything, you either in the right demographic or not.
i think this basically comes down to people inability to say no.
so your invited to a presentation, and its for 90 minutes, and for that you get a gift.
so here's an idea, go to it, sit there for 90 minutes, time it. after 90 minutes your not interested, free gift please, off you go. i'm sure there'll be a million and one stories of feeling pressured, but short of the saleman holding a gun to your head, its your decision.
not only that but then there's 14 days to consider it further.
so what im getting at is, surely if u sign up to something, pay thousands, and then dont check the paperwork, it's down to your own misgivings.
also if you (the broad you) had done research you would know that timeshare companies such as this, also pay management fees on the points they own.
it's simple really: there are 1,000 points, each costs £5, members own 500, and the company owns 500, both parties will pay that £2500. (its an example, obviously the points are in the millions).
so you're not really paying the company. the company makes money from the sales themselves, the initial payment for points.
i think the point is, if there were any legal infringments, trading standards and the fraud squad would be all over this, which means that chances are there aren't any. and so like with most contracts once your in, your in.
Same with mobile phones, mortgages & credit cards.0 -

Ahhhhh, I love the smell of troll in the evening!0 -
Not really, just think people should be more careful with what commitments they make. Always read all the paperwork, and only sign if you agree. At the end of the day its your money, so why be frivelous with it?0

Too much negative talk about DRI - I joined way back in 2002, then GVC, later Sunterra & recently Diamond Resorts.
For the past 10 years we have had various holidays around Europe sometimes 4 pax/6pax/8pax and even 10 pax with 5000 points - no complaints- all resorts were fine and we look foward to many more.
Agreed, the annual maintenance has more than doubled in 10 years - £325 then and £795 in 2012 but then so has the cost of living. How can one expect to have tip-top accommodation without maintenance ?
Other than that I have nothing else to add in so far as Company's various resorts.
Of course, as I grow older & won't be able to travel anymore, I have no intention of paying Maintenance Fees - I will just give up my Membership and look back at the good times we had.
Come down to earth everyone & stop nagging.0
