How about...."I won a 8 megapixel camera on a scratch card and up to now it has only cost me £12000 for the timeshare,£1500 two weeks maintenance fees this year.£55 RCI exchange fees per week whether i swop or not.
Problem is, the weeks i want are unavailable and to go on the exact day my timeshare weeks start i cant get a cheap flight,so,perhaps, this year i wont take my holiday but take a day trip to Southend On Sea and take some nice photos with my free camera...........Political?....I dont do Political....well,not much!0 -
mpython i have told you in plain english they are all independently verified the gifts but you cant get it in ya head about it. like i said weather you sign up or NOT you will get 2 of the gifts even if you dont join, and the gifts codes are all handed out BEFORE you get to the centre. so that means we have no idea if your going to join or not and aso means we would also still after give you the 2 gifts as there the first thing we gove you when you arrive before we even do the presentation so that way you would be happy and then we do the visual presentation. so you could come down and have no intension on signing up to it and still have your gifts weather it be entertainment system a cruise or whatever else. we are legally bound by law to give you them otherwise we would of been closed down years ago. and dont you think if it wasnt the case the fair trading standards would be involved.
see what you after say now cos that is as plain answer as you can get
WE DONT KNOW WEATHER YOU WILL SIGN OR NOT SO HOW CAN WE MAKE IT A FIX!!0 -
Or perhaps.............Timeshare is not perfect for everybody, but for us,if we adapt the restrictions and availability to suit ourselves it is great,of couse it helps if you are stupid and dont have 2 brain cells to rub together, and the best thing is that a 2 week holiday in Benalmadena only costs us £1250,thats flying from Belfast, but it doesn,t take long to get there from kent, and the 11 hour journey is really a part of the holiday experience........Political?....I dont do Political....well,not much!0

Just back from very pleasant one night "preview" stay at the Diamond Resorts site of Pine Lake Resort Carnforth.
Attended presentation total approx 2 hours including attempt to close a sale at the end - this not too bad/hard at all.
Received gifts of camera which is not very good (but is digital and does work) and The Traveller (4 night stay at one of the resorts UK or Europe) which is probably worthless.
Nevertheless, only cost us £49, had 2 bedroom lodge right on the lake side, use of pool etc, and received £20 vouchers towards meals and drinks (for 3 of us total was £25 including drinks from which £20 vouchers so not too expensive at all and very nice food).
So, scam ? NO.
Hard sell ? QUITE.
Can't really blame them for trying to sell you their product having got you there on a cheap do with the undisguised purpose of doing so.
If you want to buy then buy, if you don't (we DID NOT) then don't.
Advice: do a bit of research into the pro's and con's before going and have as many questions for them as they have for you.
HOPE THIS HELPS.0 -
Problem is very few people do any research before going go collect their prizes, and get caught up in the hype of the timeshare promotion.
The scam is that the prizes are not as good as they claim, but the biggest scam is after you have signed on the dotted line and try to get what was promised at the price that was quoted.Political?....I dont do Political....well,not much!0 -
The presentations really are tiring. They are selling an idea of quality family time and good memories. Many of their tactics are deceptive and they pressure you at every step of the way.
There are also borderline and actual lies. They claim you are buying 'real estate,' and that points actually increase in value when in reality people can't give them away for free.
The upfront fees are exorbitant. They talk about $500+ hotel room fees for 5 star lodging and how hotel costs keep increasing and try to convince you that 1) You'll save money buying a time share. 2) It's better to pay $20K upfront for only 4000 points or $36K+ if you finance this cost.
The upfront is bad enough, but locking yourself into paying monthly fees that can be jacked up 40% or more per year in a contract you cannot easily get out of is just a horrible burden.
You really 'own,' nothing because you are just paying over and over. You limit your own choices.
I loved how they kept trying to convince me that booking hotels was 'renting,' and throwing money away, while time shares are 'owning.'
No matter how I cut it the time share does not make sense. Even if the prices were 1/2, the fees really did not increase, I got 8000 points instead of 4000, and I was guaranteed the location and time periods for whenever I wanted to travel it still seems expensive and is a legally binding burden.
The sad thing is none of the above things are real and the minute I sign the bottom line I would be locked into a really crappy deal.
You have to figure that if you can truly afford to spend $20K+ upfront and over $800 per year on fees, special assessment fees, etc., it means you have the financial ability to decide on a day to day basis where and when you wish to travel, without committing yourself to one company that will try to continually bill you until you die.
With sites like Expedia, Priceline, etc., it is pretty easy to get 30-50% off on decent lodgings. If you like luxurious accommodations you can go all inclusive or seek out package deals.
I'm pretty sure time shares work for some folks, but for probably 90% or more it is a horrible deal.0 -
you see the promotion im running with this is 100% all true and the daysout free of charge are true and it is also 100% garanteed that you will walk away with 2 gifts. you can even stay over for £49.99 or 2 nights for £79.99 and it sleeps 6 peeople that per lodge not per person. the only catch is you must sit through the presentation which is around 90 mins depending on how many people are there on the day or 2 hours at most. surely guys its worth it even just to have a look and get a free day out.
LET ME REASSURE YOU YOUR UNDER NO OBLIGATION AT ANY POINT!!!!
anyone interested please feel free to ask0 -

I agree with all of your post except for the last paragraph which i quote above.
Timeshare is not a way to get cheaper or better holidays.
They are a way to ripped off every year.
They can be an open-ended contract that you think you cant get out of.
The danger is that maybe your remaining 10% think that they are clever and can make the timeshare work, well they can,but only by throwing money at it.
The annual maintenence payment pays for the apartment, but every penny paid up-front for the points or timeshare is pocketed by the company and you own nothing, buyers will never understand that they own nothing,as is proved when they try to sell their timeshare, they cant even give it away, and any timeshare resale company will only rip you off because you want to sell at any price and you will pay them £275 believing they have a buyer and they need the legal fees up-front............Stay Well Clear.Political?....I dont do Political....well,not much!0
