Or just a freak month... would be interesting to see how other EAs are doing.
None of the properties I have an eye on on Rightmove have disappeared this month.0 -
Could it be realisation has set in and they were priced realistically (sorry this is bad english but it conveys the message!), or people dropping their price massively to beat the downturn..?? Will be interesting to see what the next few months are like!0

n = not enough to draw any meaningful conclusion which can be applied nationwide
Glad to hear things are better for you this month but I hardly think it's a miracle turnaround.0 -
My Brother is buying at the moment, the house was on the market one month ago for 155k, they dropped it 10k to 145k... he offered 135k and they accepted it because they "needed to get out".0

I work in a dedicated first time buyers centre, we deal with properties up to £150k, mainly up to £130k.
We sold 25 houses/ flats last month. Best month of the year. We feel like it is picking up. -Wasn't saying that to blow my own trumpet, but to show I think it is the cheaper stuff that is selling. Not really the £85k and under stuff though.
I bet some of you will see those prices and laugh at how low they are, don't forget things are cheap in the southwest!
2 up, 2 down houses going best. Saving and spending in equal measure0 -
is this the bit where the cat starts to bounce, interest rates have dropped but recession hasnt kicked in yet?0

We had an offer today on our house, turned it down they upped it. We are mulling over night, meanwhile went on web to look at one we were interested in and has been sticking hey it's sold. Somethings happening
I came in to this world with nothing and I've still got most of it left. :rolleyes:0 -
Where in the south west I wonder?0

having sold
3 in may,
1 in June
0 in July,
we have sold 8 so far with 2 more offers awaiting sellers response this month!!!, thats more than we would normally sell in any august.
Have prices dropped enough or have people got used to falling prices and taking a long term view? or is it because the papers have stopped reporting about it over the last few weeks?
All have been houses, no flat sales, 1 was a 'buy to rent'.........he's renting it to his kids at uni.
any other ea noticed a change this month?
It's because you don't have a statistically valid sample.
I'm happy for you that you're doing well.0 -
