Anyone shopped at appliance-world?

Hi, recently placed an order on a much needed fridgefreezer with appliance-world.co.uk (not to be confused with applianceworld) after finding their prices the lowest on the particular model we wanted, read the terms and conditions, customer reviews looked pretty good for the site.
Money went through straight away(credit card), on the 18th of August, got a confirmation email. Emailed them to find out what date the delivery would be coming (says 10-14 days), as we hadn't heard anything since then, got a bounced email back....am getting a bit worried and am hoping its just a mistake, has anyone used or know of anyone who has used the site successfully or otherwise??

oh.....these are the jokers I bought a dishwasher from ages ago....to be fair they delivered very quickly...they left the dishwasher outside the front door as they had delivered before 7am and didnt want to wake us.. got the thing plumber in (integrated model) only to find it didnt work on one programme (apparently common on this type of model/make) the solution was to leave it for 4days to reset itself. As this was brand new and not cheap I rejected it under sales of goods act...this was where the trouble started, they offered me an alternative (lower spec) and were upset when I refused it, they offered to send someone to fix it (again refused this as it was brand new and already broken) anyway had to get to the point where I issued a final letter before commencing court proceedings and copied to credit card company asking for refund from them before they agreed to refund and collect (they even sent me an email saying that they believed I was still using the broken dishwasher), they did collect on the day they said they would but at 5.30am!! yes 5.30 in the morning!!!! when I posted a negative feedback on kelkoo (I think) they replied denying this had happend

Have to say that I would never ever ever use them again, though to be fair they did deliver but failed terribly on all aspects of customer service when things went wrong,

Give them a call on 0870 757 2424 and see what they say, if you have any problems I would get on to your credit card company
  • Thanks, was waiting on a call back, but am actually now tempted to cancel the order all together after reading your experience, how awful. I will call them and find out what is going on......will be leaving my own comments on kelkoo afterwards.

  • Hi, a quick update - rang and spoke to the very friendly c.s operative who although couldn't give a reason why they hadn't responded to our emails, explained that the suppliers, in my case "Bosch" were on their hols in August:confused: therefore there was a delay on them receiving the appliances themselves..... so they are expecting to get them in next week.....which means it could take up to another two weeks to deliver!! I did check out the suppler claims, and it seems the particular model we want is on a 31day delivery at other electrical sites. It would have been nice to have been kept abreast of this news.....guess it's another month without a fridge even if we cancel..... Am waiting on a phone call from them to see what alternatives they will offer.......
  • CANCELLING! Yes am still waiting on broken promises from appliance-world. Could have made my own fridgefreezer by now, it's been three weeks! They are rubbish at calling back, i.e they don't. They didn't even call to let us know why they are yet again delayed! Had enough of these jokers am cancelling first thing, think I've been very fair and gave them three chances...they were supposed to call on tuesday to arrange delivery.....nada my friends.....what a shame because they clearly hire the lovliest phone receptionists....sorry can't think of the relevent job title.....am venting and cannot sleep for being upset at myself for having a bit of faith....in the wrong firm....Personally I can' see myself using them again, even if their prices are a little cheaper, not worth the hassle!!:naughty:

You could try putting a question on the forum of Whitegoods, someone from the trade might know of any problems.

    Hi
Im sorry you are having these problems with this company, I wish I was suprised but after my experiences with them I am not at all suprised and I would never use them again!!! They seem to be pretty good when things go right but when things go wrong (out of stock or broken items) they seem to show their true colours....a bit like pile them high and sell them cheap and stuff the customer service elment. In my case I ended up with a better make dishwasher from currys for about the same price by ordering inline via quidco and using a discount code found on the internet. If I were you I would send all future letters by recorded delivery to make sure you have proof that the cancellation was received and contact your credit card company if there is any delay in you getting your refund.

  • Hi,

Ive used Appliance-World.co.uk wasa little jittery after reading your review, but my hob and washing machine have turned up with no problem at all, apart from they rang me and needed proof of my card association since I was having it sent to my mum's.

Did you get your money back ok?
