I would write with recorded delivery asking for the delivery to be arranged.... give them a set time frame and inform them if delivery not arranged in this time you will start chargeback from creditcard company. Send a copy to credit card company.
    Good luck with it

That is what I am having to do today.

Appliance World responded to one email, confirming that Appliance World UK received the appliance on 6 Jan and that the transport department of Appliance World (UK) Ltd would be in touch, but then silence from Appliance World (appliance-world.co.uk) and Appliance World has been unresponsive to any communication.

Well. I wonder if this will all help to bump this thread up the ranks in Google. Anyone thinking about shopping with Appliance World really should check this out.

Anyone who wants to warn people further, having experienced the terrible service here, should post reviews on these sites that appear high up the google ranks too.

I can't believe some of the reviews of Appliance World posted on those sites. I think Appliance World must have staff that spend time writing fake reviews of Appliance World.

    :D

Ive just found they sell THE oven, integrated fridge freezer, cooker hood, sink and tap im after at appliance world, after avoiding 'jual' due to bad thread about them here, looks like appliance world may not be much better!!

Its only showing one item with multiples instock, all the other items are '10-14 working days, subject
to a confirmation by our Logistics team' which sounds like you pay, and wait...and perhaps wait some more, I would be reluctant to order unless I had an upfront delivery date, Ive got to have the sink and tap here in time for the quartz template...oh new kitchens, what a nightmare!

Cor blimey, wheres a Gal supposed to go to get reasonable prices and customer services? Am I asking too much?:o
  • Hi all,

    I'm Jordan from appliance-world.co.uk.

We understand that some forum users here have a few concerns about the company and firstly, let me apologise to those that feel let down or dissatisfied by our service.

We've taken great steps since 2008 to improve our customer service (as evidenced by our reviews at Review Centre) and always value customer feedback.

We also understand that one of the major concerns for online shoppers is transparency. We want you to be able to reach us whenever you need us, so if you have any concerns or queries at all, please contact our UK based call centre on 0844 493 2525.

If, as some users on here have noted, there is no reply - please leave a message with your name and number and we will get back to you asap.

We've also got a showroom in Swindon so you can talk to someone face-to-face if that's how you'd prefer to shop. (Buying online can be daunting! but we know that some just like to see the product before they buy too.)

Alternatively you can email us at 'service' or 'sales' @appliance-world.co.uk.

Finally, we also use facebook and twitter @appliance_world and can be contacted through these channels too.

    Jordan.

jordan, you have broken several forum rules by posting.
Yaaay, I finally conned a man into making a honest woman of me. Even more shocking is that I can put the words "Happily" and "Married" into the same sentence and not have life insurance on my mind when I say it ;-)

Well done for bumping a thread with lots of negative stuff about Appliance-World. It will give newer MSE'ers a chance to read about you. If you were a decent company you would not take money from accounts until the item is dispatched, simply as that really.

I agree that many of reviews of Appliance-world on sites like Review Centre sound very fake, to me anyway. I know Jual were alleged to have bullied Review Centre into removing any critical comments. Fake reviews and forcing removal of critical comments seems to be a very widespread tactic now, so I wouldn't believe review sites anymore. I give more weight to the experiences of long-standing MSE'ers.

Hi, thanks for letting us know! It wasn't our intention to do so, however, we were concerned that new customers researching us might be deterred by problems which no longer exist and wanted to create a dialogue.

All we wanted to say is that we recognise there were issues in the past. We have worked on them and improved our service as a result. We welcome any feedback at all - positive or negative - on this forum or other websites.

    @Trumpton

Hi! There's no reason to deny that we have had issues in the past, hence why we are happy to bump the thread! We welcome new MSE'ers to read about us and speak to us - and even come and see us if they'd like. (We are friendly - honest!) :)

The reviews on sites such as Review Centre are 100% genuine. We don't, have never and never will post reviews ourselves. They all come from customers who've bought kitchen appliances from us and are genuinely happy (or unhappy) with the service. We actually investigate each review in a continuous effort to recognise where we are doing well and where we need to improve.

As far as we are aware, Review Centre run specialised checks against each new review to ensure their validity. We would never influence a review website into removing critical comments about us.

If anyone would like to talk to us or share their experience of dealing with Appliance World on this forum, we would actively welcome this.

P.S Sorry for such a lengthy post, we just wanted to respond to your comments in greater detail!

    Jordan

Just a heads up on this site and to save you wasting your time.

Ignore their "free delivery claim". Indeed it is free delivery, but there is a (ahem!) "Post Code Surcharge" that includes any that are further north of Manchester.

Fair enough if it was a remote highland village or island, but Blackpool or Glasgow?

Drop the free delivery claim if it doesn't apply to mainland UK and stop misleading potential customers.

If you want buyers to have faith that Appliance-World has turned the corner, stop acting like a small time outfit by enticing the north of the UK with false free delivery claims.
