Average Monthy Gas direct debit
Im wondering what you're average monthly direct debit is? I have ditched gas last year and have gone all electric. I live on my own and work so out the house most days. My electric bill including cooking hot water and heating is 60 a month. Before my combi boiler went U/S my gas bill was 50 a month
Cook once a day, have a 10 minute shower every other day switch TV etc off at the wall when not in use.

Our gas used to be about £75 a month, I think. That was a big house (thirteen radiators) and hot water for family of six, though. Now we're in a smaller house with a brand new boiler but cooking by gas now. Will be interesting to see how our monthly and annual usage compares once we've done a winter here.0

We have a 3 bed terraced - gas cooker and oven. Just gone up from £32 a month to £63 a month based on last years useage.0

I live on my own in a 2 bed purpose built flat and over the last 12 months I have used 3135 kwh of gas @ a cost of £153.69.
I am a light user and and in the winter would have the central heating on (5 radiators) for 1 hour in the am and 3 hours in the evening. I would use a the gas hob for maybe 10 mins a day as well and hot water on combi boiler for shower and washing up twice a day. To be honest this winter I will have it on a bit more as I was paranoid about the cost last year and it's not that bad.
I would also recomend http://www.i-measure.org/index.php so you can monitor your usage, if you register join the MoneySaving Carbon Club .
I hope this helps your planning.0 -
I'm in a three bed semi, gas CH & hot water. Hot water is on 20 minutes a day (there are showers in the gym for mornings!), and generally things switched off if not in use. My gas is £10/month and electricity £20/month. Looking at how much I'm in credit by, if I'm careful during the winter, even with prices going up (mine haven't done yet), this should be right.0

Does sound a bit low for both them. Is that a mains cable I see going over the neighbours wall0 -
since my last bill in May I have been paying £10 a month each on to my Gas and Electric accounts. This is not via DD but a manual electronic payment. So £30 on each account.
We have a 3 bed house, two adults one here virtually 7 days a week, me at work 3 days a week. Cook by gas have a combi boiler. We are £14 in credit with the gas and owe £20 something on the electric bill.

lol - like the footnote.
£10 is only about 55 units a month!? I would be worried if I was using that few units. Are you sure? I use more than that in a week and thats with only tele, a server (55 watts), digibox, 2 energy saving light bulbs, fridge and freezer, 2 loads in the washing machine a week, router, laptop.
I would check by giving accurate meter readings as that sounds far to low!0
