If you only need 150W (which is about all most car "cigarette" lighter car fuses are rated for), then Scan often have one on a today only for slightly less:

So what could I realistically use this for? No point me buying it if you cant do much with it!!!

I would want to:

Charge my phone
Use any laptop on it
Plug a TV into it
Use an MP3 player on it

So, can anyone confirm that I can do any of these? I dont want to be plugging it into the battery, I want it through the cigarette lighter.

It should comfortably handle any one of those - I assume we are talking small tv here not a 26 inch job!

Basically most none heating devices should be OK - just check they don't draw 300 watts

Ok, so it'd be fine with pretty much any laptop? Because I havent bought one yet, and it could be a P4 or something heavy on the power consumption.
Everything else I mentioned would be fine then yeah? Dont want to blow anything up, especially my new car!! Haha...
Yeah the TV was a TV/DVD combi, 14". Would that be OK?

would this charge my dell laptop in car...my laptop wall charger adapter says this on it :

60W AC Adpter
Input 100-240V .. 1.5A
Output 19V .. 3.16A
