Hmm - on Belkin's site they've both got black sockets. Both only have one socket (unless the 300W one has one on the other end) and there's no mention of a direct connection kit to car batteries for the larger one.

Ignore the pictures - they're just generic (and show the 140W model). The 300W model has 2 sockets side by side.

Has everyone who've received this from Morgan got the 140W single AC output model?

So both Morgan and Belkin have the wrong pictures? Can you point me to a picture of the twin socket one, please?

  • Well according to the pdf model No F5C400u300W PROVIDES 300W CONTINU0US AND 500W peak.
Thats the model i received and it only has one socket?

Haha, this is getting very concerning! I'm picking mine up tomorrow morning, so I guess I'll have a look then. If it is going to put my car in danger in any way, then someone please tell me, and I won't use it, and just sell it on.

    Hmmm...
This is from the Belkin library:
    FUL1_F5C400-300W.jpg
This looks like an older model though - in which case the amazon.co.uk listing is out of date (it lists x2 outputs in the technical specs). I can't find any other mention of the power ratings for the 300W model, though, other than 500W peak, 300W sustained.

That picture is not a UK model

Note that the 2 lower pins are vertical, rather than horizontal for a standard UK plug
(The upper pin also looks unsuitable for a standard UK plug

Maybe whether it comes with 1 or 2 sockets depends on the market. According to the picture on the Belkin site, the US model comes with 2 sockets.

  • Well Premier that seems to have cleared up a lot of confusion.

They sure don`t look like UK sockets to me.

Anyways I`m convinced i got the correct model and am very pleased especially at the price.
    So thanks go to OP.

Oooh...just had mine delivered by my postie :)

It is the 300W unit, (model No: F5C400u300W) complete with cigar lighter plug and additional adaptor for connection directly to battery using crocodile clips.

...and it has a single 13A UK socket in black.

According to specifications, this model has:

    Max. Continuous Power 300 Watt
    Surge capability (Peak) 500 Watt

As already stated in this thread, it comes with a caution not to use the unit for more than 150 Watts from the cigar lighter socket (that's why they have supplied crocodile clips adaptor)

I also note that the unit has a no load current draw of <0.4Amps, so even if you leave the unit attached without drawing current to power something, you will still flatten the battery.

    Thank You!
Does that still mean you shouldn't plug anything greater than 150W in through the cigar lighter?
