Tee hee ... Or some bright spark's gonna say, "B***er this! The fuse keeps blowing!!", and then change the fuse for a higher rated one and then do some seriouus damage! :D
Kitchen foil used to be a favourite - that will make a very bright spark! :D

Edit: Disclaimer - Don't try it folks!

If you order from them, then you should also consider the following product:

Belkin Under Monitor Surge Protector @ £8.21.

Hmm. I'm not convinced these things are much use to man or beast. Power supplies contain surge arrestors anyway. And I bet the terms of the so-called warranty make very interesting reading indeed!

It's basically an extension lead with switches, for which I might consider paying £8.21!

The belkin stuff comes with a big money garantee, but as you say PSUs are cheap and simple to replace, snake oil for those of us with good stable mains supplier.

I friend of mine has a UPS for his PCs as the mains supply in his area spikes and varies alot, he lives near factories in south London.

These items are not as good as a UPS and the price point is quite high.

is it ok to plug a standard extension lead into the inverter?

the reason being is that the cable that connects to the battery terminals is very short with only enough cable to possibly reach the glove box at a push.

Yes, it's fine to plug an extension lead in, providing that none of the electricals are exposed to the elements.

High current cable is expensive, which is why the battery lead is short!

Yes you can plug extension leads in no problem - just keep within the maximum power output - particularly an issue if you use 4 gang extension sockets.

    Edit: Whoops...too late again :o

  • Hi great post!

I ordered mine on Friday and got it yesterday morning!
I have two laptops one of which the battery always seems to be dead when I need it.
Well yesterday this was not a problem as the inverter allowed me to charge it up just when I needed it ie. miles from the office.

Customer service is a major selling point to me and the fact that someone from Morgan actually phoned me just after placing the order asking me if I wanted the invoice in my own name or the business name put this company on my will definitely use again list.

Thanks again for this great spot! :j
