Yeah, it'll be fine, as the car cant handle any more than that anyway! :) I've just ordered mine, so that's all good! Wish I had it for this weekend though, as I'm away all weekend!

Thanks for that. The 140W model will definitely be safe to use from the cigarette lighter, but here's what one amazon customer said about the 300w (twin socket) model ...

Belkin AC Anywhere, November 1, 2003

A well made, sturdy piece of equipment, the instructions are clear, well written, and should be read thoroughly before using the AC Anywhere for the first time.

I used it for charging NiMH batteries and running a laptop computer and digital TV while on holiday in a caravan - it meant I could do without electric hookup and so it has paid for itself in just 3 weeks (at a rate of £2.50 a day). It worked well with no problems at all.

The unit has a cooling fan that runs continously, but it isn't particularly noisy.

The unit comes with an adapter that allows direct connection to a battery using crocodile clips.
If the unit is being used to deliver over 150 Watts then the car cigar lighter socket MUST NOT be used, instead the adapter has to be connected directly to the battery (the cars wiring isn't designed to take the high current).

One minor criticism: the battery connection lead is a little too short
Just as well I didn't get the high powered version then!
I'm sure my car battery would be capable of delivering a large enough surge to kill the wiring if a high-powered device were plugged in. Where would I be then without a power hood, seat belt butler, memory seats, Sat Nav, Bose sound ... :o;) ?

Yep, read that one. That review is for the 140W model.

Hmmm. Belkin told me the 300W model (which seems to have the black socket, and which is the one Morgan is selling) is 140W sustained. I don't think Belkin know what they are talking about!
Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.

The Belkin 300W model has 2 sockets and is rated at 500W peak, 300W sustained. This is from the Belkin User Manual (pdf)
