That's just the problem, I'm not fully comp! My motors only worth about 1k, having said that once this is over with I will be changing my policy to fully comp for sure!

I don't want to frighten you, and I'm sure you are okay, but.....

I was involved in a minor prang when someone ran into the back of me at a roundabout. I claimed on the insurance for the damage to the car but I wasn't injured (or so I thought).

Six weeks later I collapsed and was rushed to hospital. Turns out I had a spinal injury. I am now disabled and unable to work.

What happened to me was just bad luck, but at least I got an insurance payout which has helped me to move to a bungalow (I can no longer manage stairs).

If you cancel the insurance claim and accept cash, where will you be if it turns out that you have whiplash or some other injury that hasn't shown itself yet?

As I say, I don't want to scare you, but please think about what you are doing.

    Thank you for that Daisy,

I am sorry to hear of your misfutune and I totally see where you are coming from.

The main reason I came to the forum tonight was to find out if I would still be insured even though she didn't abide to the rules of her insurance. Now it seems that I am covered, I will be carrying on with the claim.

Not 100% sure which way your going with this?!?

I am hesitating, simply because I have opened the claim. And like Endure said earlier, it could be seen that I am helping someone to hide an offence. In the kind of job that I am in, if i do this I lose my job!

    So...??

I don't think this needs an answer, but continue with the claim. Uninsured people really shouldn't be on the road and if you could loose your job surely the risk isn't worth it.

    Thank you Murtle!

I wasn't thinking straight, I will defo carry on with the claim. I was just thinking about fixing the car and not what could happen in the future if she keeps driving uninsured. If it all goes pear shaped, i'll get the money some how.

  • I am a learner and wouldn’t even think about getting behind the wheel without having a fully licensed driver with me, she knew her actions were wrong and knew the consequences so I say shop her she should be taught a lesson, who knows if she had run someone over and killed or even seriously harmed them then would she of even stopped to help? I say she wouldn’t have done..

After all said and done it’s your call.

im nearly 22, 3 years ago someone pulled out infront of me and we ended up crashing its left me pretty much deaf in 1 ear and tinnitus in both ears i have to wear hearing aids because of it. I still haven't been paid out but will hopefully be soon. For the last 3 years its been hell having so many different appointments for hearing aids ect ect. The girl that pulled out infront of me had only passed her test 2 weeks before the accident.

If she did that to me and had passed her test, then that woman who has drove into you what is she capable of when she hasn't even passed!

My friend who is the same age as me is now learning to drive she has failed 3 times already, but thats because she forgets simple things she will get there one day.

I hope you carry on with the claim at the end of the day she's dangerous and next time it could be alot worse so not only do yourself the favour but do her the favour to of teaching her a lesson.

i mean the woman is not licensed and could possibly have a more fatal car accident. full on report her behind.

y u feelin to cover up for this chick?? u owe her anything??? shes clearly a danger to the road and knew full well she shouldnt have bin driving.

the fact the woman has 'all of a sudden' wanting to pay cash is a sure fire sign to keep this all legit as shes quite clearly used to buyin her way outta trouble. shes dodge!

Who mentioned me covering up for her?? All I was ever interested in was making sure my car got sorted! I couldn't give a sh#t about her.

When we had the accident, she did ask if I would let her bro do the work on my car. She didn't mention giving me cash until today.

At the end of the day, I want my car fixed.

That may seem selfish, but it's my only asset.

theres also a chance your insurance company could well write off your car, and then where will that leave you? ive seen the slightest of prangs write off a car tbh, so if i were you, id go down the honest route and think for yourself only, if they write it off, you could get a cheque within the week anyway to replace your old one, worth a thought ............
