That may seem selfish, but it's my only asset.

she lied to you at the scene and made out she was insured, what makes you honestly think shes going to cough up the money for your car? once youve stopped any claims or getting the police involved, why should she care if you have a car or not?0 -
Someone drove into the back of me, I was grand that evening, but the next day I couldn't move. They were fully insured and it took two years for my claim to come through. You may have to claim of your own insurance if you are worried about injuries but that will end up putting your premium up. She won't be covered as she shouldn't have been out on her own, the stupid cow. You might be best cutting your losts and getting the cash of her to pay for the car or else you could try getting it off her through the courts but that would take about 2 years. If you involve the police they might do her for driving without insurance but what's the worst can happen her, she has no licence to lose. Did you get her to sign anything at the scene to say she had done it - even a slip of paper or take a photo with a mobile?? I'm sure you where in shock though and the last thing you're thinking of is getting anything of her.0

even if you dont go ahead with the claim with the insurance company it may well go down on your record anyway so I would just continue on with the claim.Weight Loss - 102lb0

If you withdraw your claim you will have colluded with her to hide a criminal offence. Not only should you go ahead with your claim - you should be reporting her to the police.0

I would say that her car is a right off, its a fairly old car & it was p###ing fluid all over the place.
She showed me he insurance certificate and it runs out soon.
We traded addresses & telephone numbers.
Thanks guys for your input,

what sort of damage has your car suffered?
unless its a tiny scratch its likley to cost a fair chunk of money if new panels and repainting is involved, not everyone has that kind of money
will the insurance people even ask if she had a driver with her?0 -
Get a quote asap for the repairs and see if she will pay up, the insurance will not push on if you tell them you are settling it privately. If you report her to the police, they might prosecute but that won't get your money back. If she doesn't pay up though make sure you do report her.0

which seems odd that shes not asking OP to say she had a driver with her doesnt it? shes saying not to make a claim, not to involve the police, but she will pay cash - sounding pretty dodgy now0 -

I would say I'm going to need a new front bumper and drivers side wing.
My insurance company asked if there were anymore witnesses, I said no.

But what claim though?? She is insured as a provisional driver, not a full-driver. Therefore her insurance will be invalid under these circumstances (if everyone tells the truth - and I am not suggesting otherwise).
Your insurance may pay out if you are fully comp and depending on the wording and "extras" of your policy, either you or your insurance company would persue her through the courts if necessary for the value of the claim.0
