Tesco are now offering fitted in kitchens for under £1000. The kitchen costs £949, but doesn't include installation or appliances, and is being advertised by the supermarket giant as a solution to customers concerned about the credit crunch.

Its range, which can only be bought online at www.tescokitchens.com, had already had 'thousands' of hits since its launch last weekend, according to the company.

Ordered a new kitchen from B&Q in January with a March 09 delivery date.

Had someone out to the house to design layout etc.

Only problem was 2 days before the delivery was due, I got a phone call to confirm the delivery date and "Oh by the way the worktops ordered are out of stock"

Cancelled order, got a full refund and the senior B&Q manager admitted that their service at delivering a kitchen was s**t!

  • Anyone recomend a good kitchen company that they might have had 1st hand experience off and somewhere for appliances to?
I can strongly recommend Kitchens and more in Ballymoney. They did a great job for me and I ended up buying 2 fitted wordrobes from them as well also great value for money and top class workmanship.
Mcauley kitchens however only fit flat pack units and if you refuse to accept them you will loose your deposit. B&Q will supply a flatpack kitchen for a fraction of the price
  • :j We have now had our second kitchen supplied and fitted by McAuley Kitchens of Belfast (the first one was fitted almost 20 yrs ago), the service has always been excellent and prices are right for the quality. A lot of cheaper companies offer what seems to be cheaper quotes and you end up with end of lines or doors that don't match. You get what you pay for in terms of equipment and materials, workmanship etc. Vistually all furniture starts life as a flat pack and anyone who tells you anything else is winding you up and playing to your snobbery (and charging you handsomely for the privelige).

McAuleys offer the best design service I have ever seen in operation and have been in business for many years in Northern Ireland offering the very best of service and they are run by the same family since the start.

Second post, both of which are massively in praise of McAuley's, and both of which sound like a sales pitch. Sounds a little suspicious to me...
  • You have just got a suspicious mind, I have been a reader of this website for many years but just made a couple of posts this morning. Both completely true about a good company offering a good service.
