We got ours extended recently and went back to people who supplied the original kitchen and they wanted £3000 for (1 off Larder, 2 off 800mm top Cupboards, 1 Set of base drawers, new sink & tap, New door handles, New Kick Boards, new plinths and 1 integrated Dishwasher..) RIP OFF!!!! Eventually got it all from Halden & Fischer for just a slip over £2000 (not an identical match but you really wouldn't notice unless you really inspected it)

They did a good job.... can't really fault it...

I would recommend ECR Kitchen Designs in Ardboe. They are currently doing the second kitchen for us (in two different houses.) They are competitively priced and good quality.

Thanks guys - I know a friend that spent 10k on an oak one - i'm not quite after that but I want something modern, pretty chic as the extension we are doing is open plan out the back so the kitchen will be a strong if not the main feature (island in the middle and all that). Apologies if I was misleading in my first post but I would expect to pay 5k.....

The kitchen business is in turmoil like the rest of the business world, so you should be able to get a good discount. I know that a few firms have gone to the wall, so be very careful with choosing your supplier.

we have the type of kitchen you're after - ours is black gloss with 10cm thick white corian (type) worktops, its got a 2mx1m island in the middle and with appliances the cheapest we could get was 12k, which we thought was a bargain. Not every kitchen place does this type of kitchen we initially priced on the boucher road a few places - £30k plus they were after!! Then we went to Greenhill kitchens near Ballygawley, they were also in and around £30k mark but they did our (excellant) plan and we paid £60 for that and took it to Keith Riddle Kitchens and he did a fantastic job for a fraction of the price.

I went to about 10 other kitchen places and they either couldnt do what i wanted or were charging the earth for doing it.

Also would recommend Dalzell Electrical in Markethill for your appliances - they are cheap to start with and give good discounts.

Not sure what area you are from but Alexander Interiors in Bangor are brilliant, really helpful and very reasonable. They never advertise because they get so much business by word of mouth.

They do some really nice stuff
They also do fitted Bedrooms if you have a bit of spare cash left over:rotfl:

it was me recommended glenn jordan i have recomended him to loads of people and they have all been extremely happy with their kitchens and they have went onto recomend him to others also. give him a ring and get him out for a quote u will be suprised how competitive he is for such a great kitchen
