johanne hugs and congrats. I wish my child tax credits were that much. It will be quicker now you are in the system - we got Sam registered straight away and were paid in the 1st few weeks, although i am no better off for having the 2 kids compared to 1 and being at work - i may see an improvement next year, but that will pay for the childcare.

i think that might have been the problem, neither of us was in the system as i was not old enough to claim WTC being only 22 (:o ) and OH had never applied for WTC before as his overtime always put him over the threshold.

I also think it took time cos i asked them to base it on this years income instead of last as between us weve took over a 7k paycut compared to last year with me not having a job to go back to and OH changing jobs to have more time with sarah and me (now does 48 hour weeks instead of 72 :) )
  • Toots - thank you!

I know he's not worth it but I still miss him!

I am still having treatment for my arm - GP, physio and fracture clinic! It was a very bad injury and treatment is likely to go on for a while and I've been warned I will feel the effects for at least a year! I have 'functional' movement now but no-one knows whether I'll get full movment back. The painkillers don't make me sleepy - it's just the lack of a good night's sleep and the depression (not much then!)

I'm glad you're feeling more positive - I know I need to do this for me and I will. It's just so annoying that I thought I was back on track and have now been knocked back again.

Thanks again for your kind words

I really hope you feel better soon, :grouphug: hugs to you :grouphug: and know that you can get it all out on here (like someone said earlier, it's like a TV show isn't it, pigpen having 'virtual punchups' on the phone too, Jerry Springer eat your heart out :D )

Would you be able to go a week later than everyone else or even back part time for a couple of weeks? they have relief people don't they? Maybe you can do the first day so you can meet the new intake and then take a coupld of days/a week off? I agree with the others that maybe you just need to speak to your head to find out your options - you may be worrying yourself over nothing (but that's what we do when we worry, don't we! :grouphug:)

I know this might not help because of the pain in your arm, but I have a friend who studies spiritual psychology and shamanism and teaches various relaxation and visualisation techniques, she's not a quack or anything, and travels all over the world and is quite renound, anyway, to the point, she taught me some relaxation techniques that I start to do when I go to bed and don't even finish because I'm asleep - I will try to PM one to you and I hope it will help. Take care

Thanks for good thoughts for MIL and DS. MIL is home and very happy to be there. She has her friend staying with her for a while, while she adjusts.

Took DS to the doctor yesterday, she has given him antibiotics for an ear infection and said he had a bad dose of the flu. And, although still very lethargic, is feeling better in himself today.

    Bumblebee - happy anniversary
Johanne - great news! I'm sure that will make you feel more at ease
Toottifrootti, carol & froddington - I'm sorry you're all going through tough times. There has been some great advice given, though. ((Hugs))
