I have been busy, getting kids organised for school and myself organised too!!
I start back on wednesday, so it gives me a couple of days without the shorties running around my feet!! I have a joiner coming this week to fit all my skirting boards..(after moving in 2 years ago) so it will be moving beds and furniture so that he will be able to get at the walls for me to put the stuff on, he is also going to fix my wooden floor in the hall and hang a door!! so im well chuffed:)
Missed you - glad you're back!Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Froddington and Serena
It’s tough at the chalkface – you’re in my thoughts – I’m sending you positive vibes! And Froddy – Toots said it all – I know it doesn’t feel like it right now – but what a s**t he is.
Pigpen – probably not! (armpits) my DD has been doing that a while (12) and she’s is so not a ‘girly’ girl. No earrings – or skirts she’s a jeans/trousers girl HTH
Re the filing – this is for anybody - I personally do not file alphabetically but by 'subject' that way I know that the relevant bit of paper will be in that file/folder somewhere. None of them are too big to search quickly, especially if you 'prune' occasionally. Surprisingly you don't need to refer back so often. Probably the car one is the one I revisit most!
In all honesty 90% of the stuff you will file you will not need so
File by subject
Eg Certificate (covers a multitude this one; qualifications, birth certs, death certs, etc)
Car – anything to do with car – MOT, Insurance, driving licence, receipts, Keeper form (whatever it’s called) More than one car – a folder/envelope per car. Save receipts here to prove you replaced/repaired when you come to sell - privately, because you'll get more;)
Insurance – general house, buildings and contents, travel (NOT CAR though) Pet, Health
Bank (statements, thing that came with card which has the number of card on it)
Building Society
Mortgage
Divorce (I've got two wallets there was that much. Decree(s) Nisi are in CERTIFICATES though - along with birth certs. etc.
Kids Reports (2 for me, 8 for Pigpen;) )
CSA
Tax Credits (trust me you need at least one for this):o
Miscellaneous for one offs eg child benefit
Utilities gas leccy water TV License Oil Internet (those regular bills)
Pensions
Shares/Investments (I should be so lucky)
Tax Wage slips, coding notices, P60 P45 etc
Jobs Job offers, pay rise letters, contracts etc
and any others you think you will need - mostly you don't need them. If you travel lots you could have a Travel one with passports, EHIC cards and insurance policies - and if you need to ask you won't need this section
Incidentally - this is based on Superwoman's filing system -and it has worked for me, in different 'containers' since I ever needed to file anything.
Oh just thought - if you own a fabulously valuable item or an item with significant sentimental value - take a photo (with a frame of reference eg a coin/ruler next to it), a copy of any proof of ownership/value then put it in with your Contents insurance - ready. Upload a copy to your e mail server. Then if you need proof that you owned it - there it is!
