the ip address will only track me to my isp.due to the nature of my provider this changes every so often0

I rang the local Jobcentre to complain about this, as they clearly are not vetting adverts properly. Just received a call back - all K C Computer's adverts have been pulled and they are under investigation. £9.20 an hour for Data Entry 'in your local town' did seem rather too good to be true.
Good stuff hopefully that will get the HMRC looking at them too.0 -
To Joan35... I wonder why you so eager to stand up for them, and I also wonder what's the nature of their work 'filling data' into company's database while working from home. Also, baring in mind that there won't be any software or tools needed to be installed in your home PC, so, How in earth could u possibly do that, please be specific.0

Joan you mention that there are office positions, i was told this over the phone as well but there is absolutely no mention of them on the website. Or at least there wasnt when i visited it. Sounds like they say that to make it sound more legitimate.0

I shall be reporting this to the Jobcentre-its disgraceful that they do not do more to protect people from this kind of thing-they are Government run for the love of all things holy! Mind you I ask too much methinks?!
Maybe I can forward the details on to Trading Standards or something?
If you ask me ANY Company that asks YOU for money has got be a scam!0 -
I, like many others have registered just to reply to this thread. It is a blatent scam of the highest order, many other 'companies' have and still are doing the same thing. The fact that people stretching the length and breadth of the country have received the same emails and same rubbish over the phone is testament to that.
I also received the exact same email as posted above, word for word. I'm in the North East and the position was advertised in South Shields.
It's rediculous how they can get away with this sort of stuff, let alone the fools that actually take it in good faith and send them money.0 -

I quite agree regarding the Jobcentre. How difficult can it be to verify a VAT code and any other credentials that may be stored at Companies House? Especially in a computerised world.0 -

If I am submitting a CV to a job bank or agency I omit DoB and NI number. I have never been requested to put them on by an agency or a job bank. AFAIK this hasn't caused any problems.
If it is a specific application form I put it in if requested. But really, AFAIK, they are not needed until you're about to start a role.0 -

Some time ago someone posted that they made money doing exactly that. It turned out they were visiting web sites and copying the email address from contact pages etc. Then pasting them into a form on the company's web site.
The emails gathered were obviously going to e used for spam, or even scams, but the person doing it didn't mind that at all. All they were interested in was getting the money.0
