Evening Everyone
Had a successful trip to the farm shop yesterday and got some lovely strawberries from the PYO place. Just need to check the sugar now and we can make jam.
We were going to have a BBQ today but the weather around lunchtime was awful, so we've opted for roast chicken - it's now lovely and sunny here:rolleyes: Oh well, we'll try again tomorrow for a BBQ.
Hope everyone's okComping, Clicking & Saving for Change0 -

Hi everyone, I'm back! :hello: :hello: :hello: We had a rather less restful holiday than usual, as we had DD1, DSIL + large guide dog, and DGD14yo with us, but it was certainly more interesting than usual:D and it was particularly nice to be able to spend more time than usual with DGS. And the only bad thing that happened was that on our last evening we discovered that DGS had picked up headlice from one of the new friends he'd made at the swimming pool  Luckily the local pharmacy was still open and they sold us some shampoo that only had to be left on for 2 lots of 3 minutes, rather than stuff that had to be left on all night  The poor lad was so embarrassed.
DD1 used the shampoo too, as she'd been about to borrow his towel when she found the little beasties _pale_
The company we'd ordered a new table and chairs from at the beginning of April (and been told it would take 8 - 10 weeks:rolleyes: ) rang DH on his mobile while we were there to say the furniture had arrived so if he'd make the final payment they would arrange a delivery dateso he told them he was away atm, so they are now meant to be ringing him tomorrow (they're in Scotland, and it's not a Bank Hol there). I still don't know what to do with all the stuff that's on the table atm, especially as the new one will be smaller. It con be expanded though. I also need new curtains for the living room in the very near future, so I think I'll have to try making them, which I'm sure will be cheaper (it's a tall window). I haven't done any sewing apart from mending for several years, as I don't have the stamina to cope with the cutting out etc, but at least curtains are just straight lines
I haven't read the rest of the the thread yet (and don't think I've the stamina to read the last ten days' threads:rotfl: ) but will catch up in a minute.I hope everyone is as well as poss. ((((HUGS)))) to all those who aren't!
It's lovely to be back with my own things again, been doing loads of washing today. Sadly the DW overflowed when we were away, so DS came home one evening to find a flood in the kitchen - not too bad, thankfully, but it's a bit pongy! Oh well, it needed reflooring anyway.....
Off now to catch up on the rest of the thread, and possibly yesterday's.
Best wishes

Evening all,
Sorry for my whinging post this morning - thanks for all who respondedTurns out I won't be going anywhere as I was given no details (when, where etc) and was told that someone would text me. No one has. Thats that problem solved!!
So, today I have done one load of washing (and managed to get it dried outside!), done a bit of shopping - bought a cake tin, and some stuff from Lidl - and made an apple loaf, which I have messed right up.
Tonight...really HAVE to do the ironing, or at least some of it .We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0 -
Hello all,
Well not done that much today...stupid being ill...it's been 3 1/2 months now driving me up the wall, but the doctor has finally listened and reffered me to see a stomach specialist, she wants me seen within the week so hope that comes quickly!
Me and Mum went to boots, got some very good bargains in there in the reduced bit and got a few bits from Asda, hopefully if I'm feeling ok tomorrow me and little brother are going to make cakes!
Step-dad and little bro went to a leicester tiger open day, and they met quite a few england rugby players so they are both very happy!!
I hope everyone is ok, sorry to hear about the washing machine Jo..that's awful! and penny-pincher...little jealous of your dd...I so wanted to go to that!!
*hugs*

Evening all!
Been MIA for a couple of days - work on Friday closely followed by a double-header at rugby, the A-team played first then the First team. Both won, with something like 135 points scored in total, so quite a good night (and lots of fit men in shorts)
VickyA Would that be the Leicester Tigers who let us have our Chabal looky-likey Luke Abrahams? If so, then thank you and I bet we finish above you at the end of the season!
Then yesterday DF had a ticket for Anfield so we went on the train & I went to Tate Liverpool to see the Klimt exhibition - better value for money than Hadrian at the British Muesum - and pootled around Liverpool One, the new shopping centre...very nice, or it will be when its finished...then La Tasca for supper with a £10 voucher from a Clubcard deal so quite OS! Had an entertaining train ride home - one group of hens were singing, and the group of blokes behind us joined in....whole carriage applauded when they got off at St Helens! Was quite worried that they were all on their way to the Lancashire coast which was another hour's travel away
Just had a lazy day today - used some of the fruit bowl for smoothies with pain au chocs from the freezer for brekkie, then DF made a lovely lunch of smoked eel with home-growed chillies & thyme with rosemary bread - yummy - with a bottle of rose
We watched the closing ceremony - was quite impressed with the fireworks but also slightly worried that the firework championships over the next few weeks will seem a bit paltry compared to Beijing! And why oh why couldn't someone tell Bo-Jo to buy a new suit, to fasten the jacket, to stand up straihgt and to keep his hands out of his pockets?! He looked a little like a small child on a stage for the first time when he was waving at his wife! I wonder if LedZep will have to re-form again for the opening ceremony, now that Jimmy Page played for the taster...
Mummysaver Why not make some of your dried chillies into strings for christmas presents? They sell those in the Christmas markets in Manchester for several pounds each.....
Candygirl Hope the band were good tonight - sounds like your dad is still feeling well & strong if he's telling you all where you should be with his instructions to all go to the park!
Whatatwit Hope DD has stopped the stroppiness? Am quite glad I had boys.....
Morwenna Did you work out what made you all spotty? And did you ever get the tiling on a roll sussed? Let me know if you want an audience when you get round to sticking it to the wall - am very good at holding the paste bucket!
Off to see the sunset in a bit - not really been out of the door today apart from brief forays to the freezer & WM in the outhouse!
See you all soon - have a lovely Bank Holiday!
Floss
