Yes, I've been able to sign up for the card, thank god! I was worried I'd have to return the camera, and possibly lose the £100 cashback or the memory card offer. Thanks for the heads up anyway

Thats pretty odd. I'm a student, and my income is the part time bar work I do, and yet I wasn't rejected. Its pretty odd that you had to call up to find out you were rejected, didn't they tell you the result of your application when you signed up?

Maybe they noticed that you applied for both an egg card and an egg money card, and freaked out. Try applying again, but cancel the old card if you haven't already. You've got 11 days to make the order, and you can send off for the £100 rebate as late as the 15th, as long as the purchase was made before or on the 31st.

Oh, I have a clean credit rating, own my own house outright, don't have any loans / outstanding credit card debts, don't have any financial problems - but have still been declined! :mad:

Usually if you apply for more than 6 items on Credit in a year you will get declines. Any credit search adds one to the total. Maybe this is why you were declined? Have you had a new mobile contract? New store cards or any other credit reference search?

I wouldn't worry too much, try again next year!!!! :j

I've opened quite a few building society/bank accounts and just recently got a new mobile. If each organisation did a credit search I'll have way way over 6 items.

As long as being decline doesn't itself give a negative rating. I'm always asked, when opening another account that has cards attached, whether I have ever been declined - saying "yes" isn't exactly going to help.

Damn - wanted one of these canons. Will have to make do with the HP 317 mentiomed elsewhere on the forum. Not quite the same quality, but at least I won't go off the deep end if the kids start using it.

There are two main credit reference agencies, both use 6 requests as a trigger. Looks like you've hit the trigger on one of them! No more applying for stuff though,,,, not for a while :snow_laug ....

When I ordered this online from Currys I opted for a what I believed to be a normal paper receipt that I understood would be posted to me.

I seem to remember the alternative was a an "online" receipt - an email I think.

When my camera kit arrived 8 days ago (14th Dec) there was no paperwork of any description with it.
No packing note, no shipping info and NO RECEIPT.

More than a week has passed and I still have nothing to photocopy to send off for my £100 cashback claim.

What did all you other owners get and when/how did it arrive ?

When I ordered the camera I printed off the final confirmation screen. This shows that the purchase was made with Mastercard. I have sent this off, but I have not heard back from them yet so I don't know if it is good enough.

I emailed currys and asked for a receipt 2 weeks ago but nothing arrived. I phoned them yesterday and they were really surprised that I wanted a receipt, but said they would send one in the post in 5 working days time.

You have till 30th Jan to claim, so don't worry yet.

I got an e-mail from Currys saying that receipts may be sent seperately from the goods but with £100 at stake I think I'll start to remind them.

I spoke to them on the 10th asking for printed labels for a return and a receipt for the camera, both which sould have been sent -still not arrived. spoke to them a couple of days ago and its on the system that they've been ordered the guy says that thier centre is in hemel hempstead and he thought that they have been affected by the pertrol fire the other week so who knows when its going to arrive....

Can't you guys just request an online receipt instead, and just print it out? But I don't think the receipt they will give you is enough, as it doesnt mention the fact the purchase was a mastercard transaction. You need the original transaction printout, as that mentions the card type.

Has anyone got the rebate yet? Or the CF card? I've not got the 256mb shortage email yet, and its been three days since I registered for the offer.
