    Xmas Saver!
If you do go for the NUS card, do it on line its quicker, but if your internet supplier is AOL, go through internet explorer, as AOL keeps chucking out the NUS site.
I've saved a wack with the NUS card, the cinema save £1.50, but if I get anything for dd or dad from Peacocks thats usually 20% off, attractions do reduced entry, b4 xmas took dd to Blists Hill museum, and with my OU card, I got in cheaper than her! My 1st question anywhere is do you do student discount!
Youve gone great guns with the weight loss, I,m enviuos, but then I eat all the nice things which are the wrong things!! xx
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx

Thanks for letting me know.Think I'll stick to red/green day plans as well when I start next week.My worst problem is what to have for lunch when out at work may just have fruit and muller light everyday.
I really want to totally declutter my house..think I would've done it ages ago if the council still collected all rubbish but as it is I had a bit of room in the grey bin this week so sorted my knicker and pj drawers..it's a start.I hate moving stuff to clean up and put it back in the same place makes the job too much work.

Hey Taxi *waves enthusiastically* how are you doing? Just to remind you not to forget freecyle.org for bigger stuff you want to get rid of. Even broken stuff sometimes go on there. Also for clothes that are no good for the charity shops, you can take them to the rag bank at the local recycling centre. That way they still get reused, just not as clothes.

And Penguin well done on the weight loss. I think that losing weight is just like giving up smoking you have to be ready to do it. Also if you are cooking better then that will have a positive effect on your whole family too. Well done

I love all the wrong things too Taxi - I have such a sweet tooth and can happily devour chocolate, biscuits and cakes all day - thats the worst thing I struggle with I can make my meals and snacks very SW friendly but still crave the sugar!

Chev - hi to you, hope alls well, thanks for the encouragement its very much appreciated!

Have had an ok weekend, we decided not to do Valentines day this year - seemed silly spending money at the minute - arent we romantic!

OH work has been beyond bad this weekend and he is very downhearted at the moment. We are going to redo our SOA this week as although money is down we are not exactly on the breadline and I know there are still cutbacks to be made.

Now that I seem to be steady on the weight loss I am going to tackle the smoking (huge potential for saving here!) I know its not going to be easy but had loads of useful info PM'd to me this morning and I am feeling very motivated at the mo - havent set a date yet but I am reading Alan Carrs book and will do it when I reach the end of that - loads of encouragement needed here please!

Hope everyone is well. DD and DS birthday at the beginning of March - luckily they are still young so no big expensive present requests yet - got all that to look forward to!

Ooh forgot to mention - old schoolfriend came round today who I havent seen for a couple of months and first thing she commented on was the weight loss - really pleased as hadnt even told her I was losing - she can come again! x x

Taxi of course I meant freecycle.org, I couldn't type before

Penguin I tell the tale of great uncle, he had been a printer during the war and had started smoking at 14. He smoked 40 a day for over 60 years. Then his legs started packing in and the Dr couldn't figure what the problem was (wait for it), so Unc just happened to mention he smoked. Now he had had this Dr for 20 years, and for some reason the Dr had never asked the question, and Unc never told him :D   . So Dr told him to give up straight away, and he did. Literally just like that. Gave away the packets of fags he had left. And just stopped. I reckon we enjoyed him another 5 years because of him giving up.

And the best motivator of all - look at your children - you want to see them graduate, get married, have your first grand children? Smoking increases the risk that you WON'T see these mile stones. Sorry to be harsh, but cancer strikes at ANY AGE. Just because you are young doesn't give you a free pass if you smoke.

    Edited to add
I have started exercising more after a complete stranger asked me if I was pregnant GRRRRRRR

Hi everyone - had a mad busy week in work and I am knackered this morning - not good as I have tonnes to do!

Had a good look at finances on Thursday and have come up with a budget which was an absolute nightmare to do with OH's earning all over the show but it is done from the 24 Feb to the 24 March and he has a target to work to, budget is tight so really hoping that he hits target with it.

Our grocery budget is 380.00 for the month which looks good but nearly 90.00 of this is nappies for DS - he is 4 in 3 weeks so the NHS will provide a few nappies for him which will be a big help.

Have set a quit date for 1st March (eek!), March always seems a significant month for me - both my children were born in March, all my promotions have always been confirmed in March and general just seems to be a good month for me so fingers crossed.

Have sooo much to do today. Housework, OU, catching up on paperwork, typing and printing out budget and updating snowball so that will keep me busy tonight. Making cakes and biscuits with the kids this afternoon so wont need to buy any.

DD back in school on Monday which saves us money, Holiday club is 38.00 a day for her but wont need to pay that until the easter hols now.

Stayed the same at slimming this week which I was expecting so cant complain but have been as good as gold this week so hoping for a loss on Weds.

    Hope everyone is well xx

Just found our SOA that I did in Aug 2008 this was the income

    My income - 2100.00
    OH income - 2500.00
    Child Ben - 120.80
    (DLA - 455.00)

    Total 4720.80 (5175.80)

This is how it stands now (6 months later)

My income - 1509.27 (overtime ban)
OH income - 1600.00 (and dropping!)
    Child Benefit - 132.80
    (DLA - 455.00)

    Total 3242.07 (3697.07)

Still a good combined income but OH's expenses are high - lets hope the drop doesnt continue at this rate! x x
