    Good morning everyone :hello:

BRRRR you're right Queenie .. a bit chilly this morning. I'm sat at the computer with a quilt tucked around my legs. Everyone else being snuggled up in their beds fast asleep. The hot water bottles are now officially in use.

Had one of the shepherds pies I frozen last week for dinner last week. A test run to see if it does cut down on time. Popped it in the oven for half an hour whilst I got on with lots of other little jobs. It was delicous, served with cabbage. I'll definately be freezing more as it was lovely not to worry about pulling a meal together after driving home in all that horrible rain last night!

Yesterday for lunch I took some of the celery soup I had previously frozen (recipe from here - I think it is on the recipe thread - and now a family favourate) and a couple of slices of breadmaker bread. Today will probably be cottage cheese and salad.

    Have a lovely OS day!

Morning sparklewing :hello: .... jacket potato sounds nice ... I think I'll substitute the salad with a potato to go with my cottage cheese.

Still feeling lousy from this cold thing but has flared my Lupus too  nevermind!

Not enough dirty clothes for a washload yet today, DW will need putting on after breakfast and think I will make a banana & ? loaf/cake in the BM today as I have a few manky bananas that need using or binning  Didnt get to sort my cupboard yesterday so will try again today but will depend on how im feeling later.

Have my psychotherapy at 1pm for 2 hrs and dont feel well enough to go but really need to get there today as my MH has been quite bad these last few weeks and it helps me alot.

DD still not well so called the head master yesterday aout her 11+ tests today and tomorrow and he has advised her to come back monday as this bug is making people drop like flies  she wont be at her best and will be unfair for her. I need to send a letter in with her when she goes back. Typical isnt it

OH is continuing with the stripping which should be finished today and can start on the undercoating tomorrow :T

We may have a buyer for our westie. She is coming over this evening and if happy will collect at the weekend for her mother. He is 3 and is so grumpy-growls at everyone but my OH and doesnt like small kids. As my health is so bad we have spoken about it and if he can go to someone whom we like etc it will be best for him. He's a lovely dog but is probably grumpy coz he's been neglected with walks etc as OH has been looking after me. This lady has just lost a westie and goes for a walk daily and there is just her in the house-so does sound perfect and lives 20mins away. She will stay in contact and send pics and will let us take him out etc on occasions and have offered to have him if she goes on holiday. Im quite upset about it-but know its better for him :o The money we get from him will go in the conservatory fund.

Breakie is sandwich/toastie. Lunch for me liver/bacon/mash. OH & DD Beans on toast. Dinner is HM Spagbol with garlic bread.

    Will catch up later.

    Penny-PIncher!!

  • Morning to everyone,

Hope everyone who is feeling poorly feels better soon :grouphug: and everyone who is feeling chilly warms up nicely :D

My DD (19 months) has a cold and chesty cough so has been awake since 5am, but then again, she's always up at that time :rotfl:

We will have a nice spanish omelette for din tonight probably with chips. Have a nice cherry pie with custard for dessert.

Seriously considering buying a SC but will it save me time preparation wise? I'll still have to prepare everything to put in there so what are the benefits for someone who is not out at work all day??

    Have a good day all!

    Good morning everyone,
It's cold here, too - especially when I hung the washing out this morning! At least it's nice and sunny though.
I still have the d/w to unload & reload with breakfast things.
Also have a huge pile of paperwork that wants sorting....
Dinner tonight will be mince - probably shepherds pie, as I got some lovely brocolli reduced in Morrisons yesterday. I think when I cook the mince I will add in a packet of soya mince & make double so half can go in the freezer, that will do for either another shepherds pie, or I can add some tomato & basil & turn it into bolognaise sauce etc.

It's great if you are going out shopping or something - lovely to come home to the smell of dinner cooking! Also, if you have that busy period - for me its about 4 o'clock -when you are trying to cook dinner (or even decide what to cook!) and everyone phones/knocks on the door/wants you to do something else/wants to tell you something ... all at the same time! Those are the days when I wish dinner was in the slow cooker!

    morning!

got friend coming over this morning. I need to do a top up shop. I am going to make a list rather than just going into the shop & letting stuff fall in the trolley. Oh will get a basket as well. And I'm not taking the car. So cannot buy loads as cannot carry it!!!

Eating my usual museli for brekkie with soya milk.
Lunch a sarnie & homemade oven chips for tea with probably eggs or quorn sausages.

    love Lisa x

  • Morning everyone

well having had two shots in each arm yesterday _pale_ i ache quite a bit today - just the muscle pain where the needles went in and where theres some redness and swelling - so i will live : )

slow cooker chicken was delicious last night - so wil be having cold chicken in our lunch time sandwiches for the next couple of days. Tea tonight is sausages with bubble and squeak.

Im off to make a gooseberry pie in a minute, then i need to refill the bird feeders and post yet more ebay stuff. I am amazed this week - i did an initial sale on ebay when i first realized my debt problem in september - almost everything sold and i was thrilled with the cash i made. This last week i have sold the things that didnt sell originally, plus all the bits and bobs from around the house that i thought werent good enough to sell and ive made £100 for Christmas money. :j

thats about it for my day today - if it stay bright and cold i shall go for a walk up the malverns around lunch time with the dog.

Hugs to all who need them - PP i do feel for you with the decision you have had to make with your westie but it does sound a perfect solution for now. hugs

ruyareece - i still use my slow cooker when i am at home all day - and i love it - reason being that you get the preps over and done with at 9 am leaving the rest of your day free! its a lovely feeling. i hate having to stop whatever i am doing at 5 pm to prepare dinner. so if youre one of those people who likes to get your work out of the way first thing then yes go for it. also nothing comes out of my oven as tender as it does from the sc - and as everyone here will tell you you can use cheaper cuts of meat for great taste!

    have a lovely day all

  • morning all :hello:

just a quick one this morning as im off to baby clinic in a bit to get dd2 weighed.
    breadmaker on,washing machine on.
me and dd2 had weetabix for breakfast and dd1 wheeto's....not sure what lunch will be and tea will be home made chicken and mushroom pie :D

ruyareece.........i dont work but wouldnt be with be without my slow cooker....i find the main benefit for me is being able to prepare my meal in the mornings/lunchtime when dd's give me time to do it. they are both good in the mornings and around lunchtime and i find it no problem getting it done. however come 4/5pm when i'd be wanting to cook otherwise they are both whingy as its nearly bedtime( they go between 5.30 and 6pm-their choice!!,dd1 who is 2 asks and dd1 will scream until you put her to bed!).

hope you all have good days, may be back later.
  • Morning all :j

Another "busy" unfulfilling day at work today, atleast im being very well paid for doing nothing right? Im surprised no one twigged on when I completed my GNVQ in 6 working days. Hah.

Today I feel a lot calmer knowing I have planned meals for the rest of the week (ish) tonight we're having pizza chips and salad as it is a super quick meal I can throw together when I get in from work as I may be working late tonight as I have a meeting to go to and suspect its going to run on past my usual finish time. But im not *too* bothered about it, just means I can kick back and relax on the bus and read my book on the way home (providing I don’t finish it at lunch time which I am perilously close to doing).

Had to nip into asda lastnight as I was going to treat myself to a new loose bottomed cake tin and id seen a cheapie one I wanted in there, got everything I needed to make OH the pineapple upside down cake but forgot the eggs, boy did I feel daft once I got home!! Silly me!

Had a super early night lastnight as my tonsilitis was really in full swing. It is so sore. Will post back later after ive had a bite to eat and some coffee.
