I want to warn shoppers about amending your Christmas order with Asda!!!
This exact same thing happened to me 2 years ago and has just happened now
My order was booked for tomorrow between 2pm-4pm I went on to amend my order and it cancelled the entire lot and slot. I have telephoned Asda online who have confirmed that the order is totally cancelled. They told me that unfortunately when you go in to amend your Christmas order that slot immediately goes available to someone else and at this time of year its snapped up just like that therefore it cancels out your order!!!
I told her to please take note of my complaint and I want someonbe to get back to me about this its an absolutely crazy way for a company to have such a way of doing things I cannot be the only person effected by this and it must put some people in an enormous mess at this time of the year as to get another slot is not possible now.
I know this is the codes thread but I thought it important to let people know what could happen to them if they wanted to add anything or take anything off an order, its probably better to just leave it and give back what you dont want to the driver and pick up anything you forgot from the shop if you can.
I did not do christmas shopping with Asda last year due this experience the year before, I couldnt trust it happening again but I did book this year thinking they couldnt possibly do that again they must have put the 'tech problem' as they called it right by now but they obviously havent
Just want to confirm that I have spoken to the online customer services again who have now confirmed to me that it is right, when you make amendments to an order the 3 hours save for the slot does not apply! It only applies when you make the order for the first time not when you amend it so instantly when you go to amend your booked slot then goes available to anyone on the asda site at that moment, so they can just take yours which cancels your order completely.
What a crazy way to carry on!
I could have been more angry but I'm lucky that I backed up my Christmas shopping with a tesco order booking aswel so I've now used that.
Just please think twice before changing your order.Thanx

How strange! I have ammneded all my recent orders,including one delivered today,and just moments ago,one due on Saturday. I have had no problems doing this at all,and retained my booking slot. Must be a glitch.0

Its not a glitch thats why I reposted to confirm what the customer services online have told me, 2 different customer services employees confirmed when you amend, your slot is not saved for 3 hours again its left open for anyone to take for every customer not just mine. Irang them back to ask if there could be a tech problem with my account and they reconfrmed it is a known thing to them. Its just you were lucky it wasnt taken, during the year its prob not as likely to happen but at this time of year more so and I may live in an area that might have fewer slots available for each time slot, who knows. This was for a delivery coming from the Mansfield store.
Anyone can phone and check they will tell you the sameThanx

This has happened to me very occasionally at other times of the year. Somebodies nabbed my slot whilst the order is being amended. Usually there's plenty of others available, so no problem. Its a stupid system which they could easily change. Although they are good value their online shopping is archaic and very poor in comparison to others. Vouchers were the only thing going for them; if they've god rid of these they're going to lose customers big time.....0

Can ANYONE tell me how much Asda delivery is and does it depend on times? I can't find it ANYWHERE on their website :mad:

Asda delivery is between £4 and £5 (weekends being more expensive). I always try to get a free delivery code from the forum on this website though. Have only paid once in last 6 months!0

Thanks - when do you find out how expensive your slot is? When you checkout? I don't usually spend much so vouchers probably won't be much use for me. Thanks0
