I just wanted to send massive (((hugs))) to PenPin - I hope the day gets better for you. I see you've ordered your Remoska! I can definitely vouch for them now that I've had mine for more than a month - I've hardly had my oven on since. I did a stew in it on Thursday which was delicious, and there is enough left over for dinner tonight; I just need to add a bit more stock. There was room for 12 dumplings, too! Good luck with it.

Well, DS2 has phoned from the airport to say they've landed. It was only after he phoned that I realised how tense I've been this morning. They've had a great time but just want to get back to the cat - they've only had him a year and this is the first time they've been away from him. He's been well looked after by DIL's sister so has survived! Heaven knows what they will be like when they have children.

I feel so relieved now that my lot are back home again - I might open a bottle of the falling-down stuff tonight - anyone care to join me?

It's been quite a nice day today although I didn't have enough washing for a load to I've not been able to make the most of it.

Anyway, I'm off for sit down with a cuppa before DS1, DIL and the grandchildren come round a bit later.

Well have been busy here getting loads of stuff ready for a boot fair. Weather forecast says its gonna be showery tomorrow so we might have it on Monday instead. Will be glad to get rid of all the stuff to have a bit of room. There is quite a bit from my mum's place too which we have had to store.

Have a lovely bank holiday weekend all

Bye the way just been looking at the links about scrabulous on facebook and they have put a new one up, very similar to scrabulous called 'wordscraper' - anyone who wants to invite me for a game go ahead, cos I have forgotten who I was playing with before, so hope you all have better memories than me lol

  • Afternoon all,
just popped by briefly - Kaat, will definitely catch up with you for Scrabble later :) (and Redruby, Chrisca & anyone else!). Just bear with me as I'm still getting to grips with it, lol. And (((((hugs)))) for poor confused George too. If only we could explain to him.
((((((penpin)))))) sorry you are feeling low.
Smokey, lovely to hear from you (((((hugs))))) for you too.

Washing blowing on the line, been sunny & breezy all day :) My neighbour who is too disabled to work as a gardener has been out gardening non-stop all day. Up a 15 foot ladder with a hedge trimmer doing his leylandii. That's when he's not spending 3 consecutive days - for 6 hours at a time - washing, waxing & hoovering his very large mobility people carrier. Anyhow, I digress...

Well on the way with sorting the cupboard in the hall, I'll be able to fit my Henry hoover & ironing board in there, plus slow cooker & stuff like that, which frees up kitchen cupboard space. Also found some Ikea rails that you hang stuff off so will find my drill & have a go at putting them up (don't think I can do too much damage trying to drill into plasterboard... can I?!?!?!?).

And I found a plumber to come & fit my new towel radiator in the bathroom & fix a leaking valve on DD's radiator. He was here 3 hours, did it all & charged me £35 (though I wouldn't let him give me the change from £40 as I think it should have been more)...... :) He is one of oldest DD's friend's dad. Told him I very much appreciated it as the plumber my builder asked to look at it came round 4 weeks ago, looked & hasn't been seen since... Will get him (new plumber) to change all my other rads bit by bit to new efficient ones & then I'm sure boiler will need doing at some point in next couple of years too. He's also recommended me an electrician friend which is something else I will need at some point!

Must go & investigate what we can have for dinner as I forgot....
Hopefully time for scrabble later :)

Went shopping at Sainsbury to use Nectar points and DD got 2 saucepans, huge frying pan , all sorts of kitchen gadgets, washing powder etc. etc and I treated myself to a new top and cardigan as well.

It was 25% discount so a bill of £120 came to £90 and when I used my Nectar points the bill came to under £3 for the lot - very pleased with what we got!!!

I need to start making tea for DDs and DH so will see you later.
