Hi, this is the Daily Thread for xx (add date). This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Hi all
havent slept well as dh kept on waking up! got lo downstairs with me as dont think he slept well either
ds1 has his mate up today round about lunchtime, so that will be fun for him, dh is taking lo and ds2 to town so he can spend time with them
got kitchen and bathroom to do today, as the kitchen looks like a bomb has hit it, and no i really mean that:rotfl: there always seem to be a stack of dishes and its only me that does them, ugh
right must get off and tackle the kitchen
susie

Morning all! I don't usually get to the daily thread but this morning we've both been awake since 5am! Why does it always happen on a Saturday!
<<<Hugs>>> to all that need them and morning to all those that follow.
Off to see if I can sleep a bit more now...Piglet

Hi Pixie - hope you manage to catch up on that missed sleep.
Well, I was up quite early this morning because I woke up and couldn't get back to sleep. I've been filing - what a lovely early morning job!
I think I was restless in the night because DS2 and DIL are due to fly back from their honeymoon today and I shall worry until they are safely back at home. The weather here is going to be a bit of a shock to them. It's been lovely over there but, of course, pretty miserable here. I do hope that those-who-like-to-scare-us will now stop bleating on about global-warming - how can they prove it now that half the world is having normal weather and half the world isn't? It's been quite typical in France and Spain yet much cooler, wetter and cloudier here. It it was 'global' warming then the whole globe would be affected! Our Government loves to scare us, doesn't it? And as for yet another loss of data - well, don't get me started on that!
Anyway, it looks as if we will have some sunshine this bank holiday though not the really warm stuff we should be getting.
I need to do some more paperwork today; DH is working for most of the morning so it gives me a chance to catch up with things. He's been home for the last couple of days soI feel as if I have got behind on lots of stuff, especially the ironing.
DS1, DIL and the children are coming round this afternoon - I haven't seen them since they came back from their holiday in France on Monday. They had a great time and, on the last day, they took the children to Disneyworld as a surprise. Needless to say, they didn't want to come home!
(((Hugs))) to Smoky, PenPin, Beth and her DBs, Jayward, Candygirl's Dad and Essex-girl's Dad and anyone else who needs one. I hope Moneysavingdiva's and Taplady's DHs are feeling better today.
Well, I'd better go and have a shower.
See you all later.

Morning peeps
busy day at w*rk today and i must admit that i`m not really in the mood.
Dh is also at w**king so thats some consolation but the weather is nice and i`m usually stuck here when that`s the case and off when it rains.
The usual morning bits and pieces have been done already and i might rung DH to see if he has time to hang out the washing before he leaves as it seems nice enough out there.
I did a new meal planner yesterday and i can`t find either that or the shopping list so i think i need to have a good search around as the shopping will be done tonight as DH goes away tomorrow leaving me on my own with the monsters again
DH has been speaking to a gent that he met in our local park whilst walking the dogs over the last couple of months and although we don`t know him that well he seems a lovely chap.
He has never had anything wrong with him all his life but recently he had a fit and was told he was epileptic, more recently he has been ill and was told that he now has something growing on his brain.
He recieved a phone call yesterday from the hospital and has been told that he has to go in today for an operation for it to be removed.
Please say a small prayer for him today.
I can`t stop thinking about him, lets hope that the operation is a sucess and he`s fine.
Catch up later.

Morning all,
I spent lastnight emptying the cupboards under the sink, OMG the amount of cleaning stuff under there was unbelievable, since I found out about stardrops I've not used anything else so will box them up and give to DD2. More space. Filled all cupboards in new utility room with BM, Food P, GF grill Smoothie maker, liquidiser, Coffee M, Iron etc and had a brainwave, I bought 2 of the plastic shoe storage hanging thingies (£2) fixed them on the wall and filled with dusters, polish (Orangeglo) DW tablets and loads of other stuff.
Think I'll have an easy day and polish the roof.
Will cook dinner for DD and SiLaw to be, DD is now 11 weeks and 2 days pregnant and full of cold. I'll do some cleaning for her as she is so tired but thankfully no morning sickness. Got a great recipe from A.W.T. for lamb shanks so will do that.
BM and WM on and nearly finished. lovely drying weather here, lots of blue stuff in the sky. Fingers crossed.
Got YS salmon, duck breasts, cauli, strawbs and melon so no guessing what's for dinner.
Off to read y/days thread. Hope it's a good BH week-end for all.0 -
Good Morning All
(((hugs))) whereever needed & special ones to your friend Sunnyday.
Lovely sunshine here today which is lucky as we are having our party. Have loads to do as got an unexpected call yesterday. We were looking for a puppy as our dog is a lovely good dog but he loves company all the time. We didnt want to pay full price though (as pennies are tight) and our friends cousin had 1 left, the last of the litter and only wanted a small amount. We went and saw him and he was perfect so he came home with us last night. Our dog was so happy and they havnt stopped playing since.
So the upstairs of the house got cleaned yesterday but not the bottom, that is the first job for today then get everything ready for the party. Have loads of salads to make but mainly it will be assembling things.
Kids are very happy and DD will be in charge of the pup today so that will keep her very occupied.
Really need to get a move on, have a great day.

Morning all,
sun shining here again, woo-hoo...!!!
Essex-Girl, wow sounds like you have your hands full this weekend, but how exciting to have a new puppy
Have a great party too.
Pixie, the dishes will wait - sit & put your feet up with LO for a bit once the others have gone out, and enjoy the peace. Or make DH do them!)
Mioliere, you have a family-filled weekend then?
Hope DS & DiL have enjoyed their honeymoon, do they have presents to open now they're home? I usually find that when I'm awake early is when I feel most energetic/motivated to do stuff like paperwork too.
Sunnyday, positive thoughts for your friend.
Betheebee - STOP!!!!! lol - you should have a break every now & then...!!!!
Candygirl, I think it's very mean you won't come & sort out my 100x33ft very overgrown weedy garden....
(((((((((((hugs))))))))))) to all those needing them & hoping poorly OHs feel better soon too.
Today I am going to sort the cupboard in the hall - feel "on a roll" now I've started, and having sorted/emptied lots of drawers in the hall, I've made space for some stuff from that cupboard
I know that if I don't get all the decluttering done in the next 6 weeks, it won't happen till next summer.
Have a good day all, catch up later.
PS - Where's Scrabulous gone??? Anyone know?? Just as I discover it & start a game, it goes...????Live your life until love is found, or love's gonna get you down" (credit to Mika!)
