Hi
I managed to find a girl soft toy / doll called Emily in Tesco (after trying to find an elf for ages).
She is dressed all christmassy and although not officially an elf, could be a santa helper - anyway she was only £5 and really cute, I'm sure my girls will love her.
They did also have a santa one, but I wanted one that looked more like an elf iyswim!
I also manaeged to get advent calenders for £1 each and they also had the individual Cadbury's Elves for 20p each.
HTH
I saw these dolls today in Tesco, they're great!! If I wasn't making one I'd definitely buy one of these - may still buy one depending how my elf turns out!0 -

I brought the mini one of these, £2 I think. I thought she looked quite convincing as an elf. I hope!

Just put this on another thread on this topic, but if anyone is looking for an elf this might be an idea:
I searched high & low last year and struggled to find a nice elf and left it too late to get someone to knit one (I certainly can't knit but my Mum knows a few good knitters). I ended up buying one of these http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/DOG-CHRISTMAS-...item5d26a818fb I have no knowledge of the sellers. It's actually a dog toy, not my first choice of Elf, but it worked well for us! There seem to be a few sellers for both red & green.0 -

Hi, I'm glad somebody else spotted these dolls too - I think they are so cute - if my children ask why she doesn't have pointy ears, I'm going to tell them it is her disguise in case anybody else sees her!!:rotfl:

can't wait for chipper twinkle toes to return this year, better dig out his little book from last year to make sure i don't repeat too much and more importantly get all the info about him right if the kids ask questions again, they're bound to remember the details better than me!!!!!
some of the things he got up to last year if anyone wants ideas...
getting drunk on a bottle of beer,
hiding in the fridge
watching the fish in the tank
making snowflakes
leaving little gifts- eg xmas soap
leaving xmas jokes
trying to climb up the stairs

hi,
i did this last year and my kids loved it. they have alredy asked if bertie can come back this year, so i told them they have got to be good and write santa a letter in the next week askinh him.
thing is eldest (7) told a few kids at school that he may be getting a magical elf come and live with us until xmas, these kids inturn told their parents who bbasically laughed at the kids, told them there is no such thing and its all lies and the kids told my son this. he is now very upset as he doesnt think bertie will come.
i've told him the elves are magic as long as he believes they are, despite what his friends say. any other ideas as to what i can tell him???
bertie has a new blog for this year as his website was removed from the host, i was not happy as i paid for the domain name last year. please feel free to take a look.

Hello again yummy mummy amy - we are having a reindeer arrive this year with our elf I can't wait, found his book that the kids wrote in each night with there messages to him and both laughed and cried at the things they'd wrote.
can't believe they've got rid of the old blog i had been trying to search for it that explains why i couldn't find it!
As to what to say about Bertie not being real have you seen the Polar express? explain it's like the noise the bell makes if you don't believe you can't hear it. Good luck xx:beer:0 -
I'm beginng to think a whole month nearly of Elf antics may be too much. When do everyone else's Elves arrive? I'd planned on the 1st but that means more than 3 weeks of activities, plus it's a preschool day AND my Mum's birthday...June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500
