well today Peppermint has been rather annoyed with the kids, they just ain't behaving like he thinks they should!!!
he left them gingerbread houses with instructions this morning to do after school, but when they got in there was directions to 'secret locaton' to see lots and lots of ballooons released in aid of local hospice - it was wonderfull brought a tear to my eye, we lost my nana at the end of the summer the kids called her little nana, we went tonight just to see what it was like, took kids, there nana (little nana's daughter) and peppermint ( cause he told us about it in his journal) when all the balloons where about to be released my daughter (aged 5) went up and rubbed one so "little nana knows i'm sending it to her in heaven" we all couldn't speak you don't relise how much thsy take in!!
peppermint is staying at other granny's over the weekend with the kids (deserved rest for the parents) we've arranged for lots of michief whille he's there I only hope they carry it out!
nice to hear about lots of elves, Emly choose the name bertie in the name a bear raffle for the hospice 'cause it was peppermints friend ( hope it dosent win as the bear was bigger than me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!):beer:0 -
I just wanted to say a huge thank you for this idea. :j
We have two little trendy girl elves called Merry and Sparkle (couldn't find proper elf looking dolls so told my daughters that they were modern girls) My eldest is 12 and raising an eyebrow at times but thoroughly enjoying the fun (not to mention the little gifts being left).:D
Our elves have checked out the decs - hid in the tree, scoffed a big box of chocs in the night (erm....), hidden in the garden decs, the freezer and today left little pink Christmas trees (1p in Tesco I posted on the grabbit thread). We have kept a journal a little like a mini scrapbook and are having great fun.
It has reminded all of us that Christmas is not just about moaning how much we have to do and the work involved, and has made us think about having festive fun in the weeks running up to the day.
Huge thanks from the Trippit household - even Mr. Trippit is having a good time with this - despite having a really bad case of 'man flu' at the moment!:rolleyes:Thanks to this fantastic site and it's amazing people, we have paid over £63, 000 off - just over half way!!!:T THANK YOU:T0 -
last night our elves made christmas cards for the kids. they personilised each card with the kids name in glitter, then they stuck photos of themselves on.they had brought out the christmas teddies to help so they stuck santa's ,snowmen and reindeer on aswell. they signed the card from alf, wilf ,santa, rudolph and frosty the snowman.the kids thought it was great and have had great fun making their own cards with all the stuff they left out for them.0

i hope you do win "bertie the bear!" little 1 will love it forever!
bertie was "apparently" found hanging from a home made ladder this morning near the loft hatch. neither me nor OH saw him...... when the kids called us upstairs to show us all there was was an elastic band ladder! the kids now think he is in the loft! (he's not, i moved him whilst they were downstairs HeHeHe!) not telling them where to though.due to spilling coffee :coffee: on my keyboard it works when it wants to :rotfl:
