Our elf arrived Monday and has been upto non stop mischief since then!!
He is called Otis Sugar-Socks and my dd aged 5yrs old adores him and is very very proud of him. (I even have caught my 11yr old ds cuddling him!!)
So far he has brought us lots of fun and is really getting us into the festive spirit.

poohzee, i got my elf from a garden centre called endsleigh its a xmas decoration about 15-20cm tall.
The kids got the letter after school and as i read it they both started crying that they didn't want an elf to come - i felt so bad! wasn't expecting that they 8 and 4 so thought they'd love it
managed to calm them down, reread the letter and told them if they didn't like him we'd send him back.
as time went on they got very excited and asked lots of questions, so much so that the parcel arrived after tea. thought all was going well they fed him put him to bed etc, but then dd 4yrs has woken up several times tonight crying- not like her, i think i better let him give them choc surprise in the morning to try and win her over- wish me luck
over breakfast they talked non stop about what he might do tonight. think its all going to be ok afterall phew!Word for 2023 …PROACTIVE 🧡 2023 -decluttering campaign 1020/2023 ⭐️⭐️Saving towards paying off car in November…£720/£1500 🚗0 -
I love reading all your elf antics!
This morning Mikey was found at the computer playing an elf game on the internet, he must have been practising a lot as he had a really good score ;-) . DS tried to beat him but ran out of time and had to go to school. It's funny, he is 10 years old and I thought he would just roll his eyes at the whole elf thing but he does at least seem to be entetaining the idea! DD thinks it is brilliant looking for Mikey every morning, she is 2.5..... so one is prob bit young and the other a bit old....I guess the elf is really here to entertain ME, lol. It's BOUGHT not bRought0 -

donna, I'm wondering whether they've heard a story about bad elves ?? they're sometimes not very nice creatures in fairy stories and given to spitefulness. Glad to hear that she is happier this morning, I hope she comes to love chipper twinkletoes, because we all know that there are good and bad elves, just like there are good and bad people!
I'm loving reading all your stories on this thread, please keep them coming!
My dd and her family and my ds and his partner have adopted the elf tradition this year, but sadly I live too far away to have much involvement ( I bought the elves though!:D). I've decided that when I find out what their elves are called I'm going to get them an email address and send them some messages with links to christmas games etc online. Any other suggestions for long distance elf-ing please???? And, yes, my kids are grown up but still love all the fun of Christmas... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

In the initial introductory letter from Santa my kids were given an email addy to contact if the elves were very, very naughty! Thanks Op for this. I read this, thought it was a great idea, told my 2 children (& included my 5 minded ones!) and then thought - arrghh - need to get an elf! We bought the tatty teddy one from Clintons - very cute. So for the last week or so, my dd has been talking non stop about the fact that an elf is coming to visit.
She got all upset the other night that it wasn't going to be able to talk to her - so I thought I may have boobed buying a bear.Well "Snow Toes" arrived this afternoon while she was swimming, and hid under the tree because he is shy!
The look on my daughters face was pure disbelief, and why on earth were we trying to pretend this tiny bear was an elf? The elf she had imagined coming was going to be knee high!
Luckily for me she announced yesterday that she had a new boyfriend (she's 5 1/2!) so I made up a ridiculous thought of what he looked like, and how what you think someone is going to look like, often never is. She bought that!
Anyway - she's gone to bed tonight - so I've set Snow Toes up on my wall unit with a pen and his notebook - ready to make notes if she asks! Will save the mischief for a day or two! She also said she believed he was real now too!
Like many of you on here - this is for me as much as for her :j - dh wants it to disapear to see Rudolph for a few days, so it doesn't over shadow Christmas! Bah - humbug! :santa2:0 -
yummy- mummy-amy
that sounds like great fun might try that some time this week!
chipper twinkletoes made paper snowflakes last night and scattered them around the lounge.dd and ds gave him lots of hugs today, they're really getting into it.tonight he's going to leave them a magic snowball(bath bomb) for in their bath tomorrow . oooh this is so much fun , i'll be really sad when he leaves!Word for 2023 …PROACTIVE 🧡 2023 -decluttering campaign 1020/2023 ⭐️⭐️Saving towards paying off car in November…£720/£1500 🚗0
